Look into some boots that have shrinkage tech, it will reduce the footprint by a full size. What angles/ stance width do you usually ride? That will be a big factor since board waist widths are measured at the center of the board. If you wear size 12 boots I wouldn't go any smaller than 255ww and even that is pushing it. Something 260+ would be ideal IMO.

Also, I just planned my weeklong ski trip this year to Mt Bohemia in Michigan's Upper Penninsula... http://www.mtbohemia.com/ 273" average snow per winter (shorter timeframe than out west also) Best part of the trip is free ski in ski out cabin for the week, free lift tickets, and $50 per day to ski there paid by the resort... ballin.

Planning a trip around Christmas to either Big Sky or Jackson Hole, any opinions? Decent snow at both places by then? I'm into pow, steeps, trees, cliffs etc. don't care much about parks (though the stash at Jackson seems like it would be rad). Haven't been to either place. Leaning towards Big Sky right now mostly because I've been reading it's generally less crowded...

I am going to check out Hunter Mountain in a couple of weeks...How are the bunny hills there where I can learn? I took such a bad beating last time I went snowboarding but I got up like a champ every time. Had trouble getting up this one time though where I did a crazy flip and landed on my back. Was freaking hillarious but at the time was in so much pain. My ex that bitch was just laughing the whole time on her ****gytime skis.
I should've donkey punched her or something for that

Anyone think this board is worth it for me? I am pretty new to snowboarding and all my boarding is done in the Northeast so lots of manmade snow and what not...

You definitely want to stick with one of the more reputable companies. There are a lot of companies who make quality decks, and just as many who make crap unfortunately. Here are a couple of boards in your price range that are quality:

Personally, if i needed a board right now, i would buy that Capita in a heart beat. Its last year's model but its one of the most fun boards ive ever been on. Kills it all over the mountain. They have a 156 in stock as well and thats the size i would ride if i were you.

Hopefully, the 3 left are still in stock when I get home in 2 hours to make the purchase. What bindings would you suggest as well as boots for this board?
What's the word on the new Capita 2012 board?

The difference between the 2 boards is that the 2012 has a Flat Kick camber profile, and the 2011 is traditional camber. It's a netters of preference, but I much prefer traditional camber, it performs much better on groomed runs.
For bindings, I really like Union Forces, Burton Cartels, Rome 390s. A very solid price point binding are the Burton Missions too. Forces and Cartels are the gold standard for all mountain bindings though.
For boots, you gotta go try a bunch on and pick the ones that fit you best, everybody's feet are different. DO NOT skimp on boots, they are BY FAR the most important part of your setup. Expect to spend around $200 for a good pair. Some quality brands are Nike, Soloman, 32, Burton, Rome, DC. You'll want a medium flex boot for all mountain riding. Definitely steer clear of soft boots.

Thanks brah you earn reps for life from....
I am going to pick up that Capita board today and head over to the REI outlet near me and get some boots from there and pick up the bindings online. Hopefully, I should be able to test this stuff out by next weekend.
Also i guess I go for the large binding instead of medium at size 11?

I am usually 11 in Burton the 10's make my toes curl into some uncomfortable postion that I cannot describe. Anything I should know about in terms how to take care of the board? Do these boards come ready to ride or will I have to wax them up? I have a DA polisher at home is this something I can do at home? Also gonna have to figure out how to get the bindings on...

The board will come with a coat of factory wax on it, which means it will be ok for about 1 day of riding and then will need to be waxed. I always wax my new boards when I get them because the factory wax is just to keep the base from drying out while its waiting to be sold. It doesn't last long at all.
For maintenance, regular waxing is really all you need to do. Maybe take it to a shop after every 20 days on it and get the edges sharpened if you like. You can wax it yourself or take it to a shop and they will do it for a small fee. Don't use a polishing machine on it, I will link you to some YouTube videos on waxing when I'm not posting from my phone. I usually wax mine after every 3 days of riding. Maybe 2 if the conditions suck. Also, dry your board off before you put it away so the edges don't rust.
Installing bindings is easy, they should come with an installation guide to walk you through it. You are probably going to need to make some adjustments to the straps before you mount them. I can help walk you through it when the time comes.

****ING LOVE BATALEON BOARDS!!!
I got an evil twin that I picked up from my local rep last spring and it's been my favorite board i've ever owned. 154 is the length. Love it because its a tad stiffer than most park boards (pressing rails is stupid IMO anyways), allows for super clean ollies and awesome takeoffs on the larger kickers.
I've got it set up with rome 390 bindings atm, might switch those bindings to something stiffer once they blow out. Already busted 1 baseplate so now i'm off warranty.
