I use a brand called MorEPA by Minami Nutrition. It has exceptional purity and is highly concentrated. Additionally, it exceeds standards for filtering out contaminants and uses fish from sustainable sources. Also, there are no "filler" fats, just the good stuff. You can find it at whole foods or on the net. hope this helps, cheers

Given that you're taking 20 caps a day, I don't think I'm amiss in thinking you want more fish oil than most (Poliquin?). May want to switch to something like Udo's Choice, a good brand that is just the liquid form of fish oil, not capped.

Just with the amount you're taking I'd opt for a liquid over a softgel. At 20 with your standard 180/120 epa/dha capsules, you're at 6g a day? Teaspoon of oil could make that less to take daily...
    I remember being relevant.

NOW's Ultra Omega 3 , the enteric coated / distilled one, highest EPA / DHA per cap out there...probably could cut your 20 pills to 10 based on that.

Not quite the highest EPA/DHA per cap... they are 500/250 per cap, we're 581/297 and then 10% SDA (conversion to EPA) in our 3x Fish Fats . Still, with the amount of fish oil he's taking, I'd go with a liquid version over capsules... 10 capsules is still a lot to be taking.

If price weren't an issue, I would recommend Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega. Nordic uses anchovies and sardines which are very low on the food chain which means less pcb's, mercury, ect. while most companies use cod or salmon. Ultimate Omega provides 1100mg of omega-3 per two capsules which is almost double the average dose.

I would prefer the Optimum brand, because if you look at their sources it is low on the food chain - mackeral, sardine, etc. compared to salmon, a mid-range food chain fish.

The reason for this is because the higher you move into the food chain, the more concentration of low-leeching contaminants become, such as mercury. This is where the whole albacore tuna argument comes from actually. The oil IS being molecularly distilled to remove mercury and heavy metals (contaminants), but I prefer to:

    1) start with oil that is low on the food chain, providing lower contamination
    2) prefer sources from wide-spread food chain sources
    I remember being relevant.
