Did Dexter really deserve to win?

He was heavier,bigger,thicker and as conditioned this year in relation to last year.
He should have beat Jay last year anyway and grabbed the second place

Not much, just more mass, which is what was needed to secure his victory. I had Phil winning the show, but Dexter's time has come.

The competition got better, with the sole exception of Martinez dropping out, but so did the judging. Yes he deserved it.

Only competition who got better was Tony. Phil I guess, even though he never competed before. Dennis got worse or didn't improve at all, Melvin didn't improve, and Jay improved since 07, but he didn't look his best like in 06/01.

Everyone outside of the top 6 didn't stand a chance of coming close to anyone in the top 6.

Not much but who cares. He's made steady improvements and deserved the title of the best bodybuilder in the world.

Much rather see that than some guy add 10lbs of mass a year while wildly varying in quality and having an abysmal midsection.

I always thought Dex was to small and over did his conditioning, he had too little mass and he looked flat to me in a lot of poses, he had a great physique, but he was IMO a bit too small.

Then i saw him on stage Friday night, he was bigger and IMO looked much better, he wasnt flat looking and he still kept his incredible lines/symmetry, a perfect balance that few have come close to IMO, he stood out the most in the top 3 to me.

He reminded me quite a bit of Flex.

The best man won, no doubt about it in my mind.

what boggles my mind is how much gear these guys must use each year and they still come in looking virtually the same. its like they use all these chemicals just to maintain what they have already. dexter hasnt looked noticeable different in a long time. seems like the juicers at my gym get bigger and bigger every time i see them, perhaps there is a threshold that the pros reach even with performance enhancers, have no idea how these things work.

Most of them are already on their limit,put a 200 pounder guy on one of their cicles and he just blows up,as they get bigger,improvements are getting more and more harder

Vic Martinez 07 was tougher overall competition.

Clean made a good point that the only competition who was significantly better were Toney and Phil. Of course, I'm not counting those outside the top 6.

I think for that reason we are gonna see heath just get better and better due to is limited time that he has been bodybuilding and limited time on the juice compared to the rest of the top 5

Heath looks to respond very well to drugs,i would not be surprised if he only have start using HGH,Slin & IGF-1 after the Arnold 07,when he gained the 16 pounds.

Quick point on Victor: if Victor could not beat a soft, watery mess of a Jay last year, how is he going to beat Dexter? Victor has a record and they will NEVER let him be Mr. Olympia.

Well Dex couldn't beat the soft, watery mess of a Jay last year, even though this year was closer. They may never let Vic be a Mr O, probably, but you never know.

x2, it's supposed to be about who is best on stage at that particular event. And this time around it was Dexter. It's been Dexter more than once IMO, but this time it was made official.
