Dude, I dont ever remember any trainer who's gotten in BETTER shape the first two years they became a trainer...even the genetically gifted ones, except for those that dont really care about making much money and didnt last anyway.

LA Fitness is the absolute bottom of the barrel. You could start at most Gold's (every franchise is different) or 24 hour and double your money easily. If you have no other option to work there start looking for another job right away.

LA Fitness is not personal trianing. You get an assembly line of half hour clients which you never really get to prescreen your clients and find out goals injuries and do postural assessments on ect.

Hahaha man some people are crazy. First of all its harder to get hired at a 24 hr or Golds gym. Second of all you do make double there but you have to get your own clients. Im at LA Fitness and have not had to get one client for myself yet. I train about 20 sessions a week. Now i agree that i dont make that much money there. But the EXPERIENCE IS INVALUABLE. I make money on the side there selling exercise programs and meal programs. By the way its your responsibility to screen your clients and ask there health history. Some people here arent even trainers and their just talking out there a...ssssss. This is a hobby for me not my career so the money i make is all extra. If you get into personal training and expect to make alot of money right away itsjust not going to happen. You have to build your rep and your business from the bottom up. Peace.

    Great

When you go work any sales job, management wants you to make money and generate business so they can make money and move up. And with that said, you move up as well as long as you stand out. I worked at a gym for 2 years where sales was almost exactly the way most corporate gyms would be like except this wasnt corporate. Going into LA Fitness is all about the money. You need to have your mind straight on a game plan walking into each day. You're there for a long shift..Lead Acquisition, phone calls, and practicingyour pitch should be your main priority. After you get that down your set. Its you v.s. All is how i like thinking of it. Your the only one whos going to make yourself money. You control your paycheck. If you aren't in it for the money and not about the hustle then this job probably isn't for you. But for the people that are looking to make some serious money you work at a place like this. You promote the most important product, which is life. It's a commission based job. Not all about the base-pay.

La fitness is only a great place for a select type of trainer.

As a former employee I say stay away, far away unless you have a nice cushion corporate offer.

Hello, i was recently searching up a job position for a membership counselor job at LA Fitness. You know, the ones that welcome new clients and talk to them on the desk etc. Does anyone know if their job is commission-based or hourly wage?
