I know we're all still pissed from the game but I think this team has a huge upside down the stretch
Pros:
-We nearly beat one of the best teams in the AFC (I don't think they dropped off, I think SD is THAT good)
-Rivers looked much better than he did at ANY point last season, even with the pick 6. If you watch the play, Cushing made a freak interception on a play that should have gone for 30.
-Pass rush was impressive for most of the night
Cons
-Late 3rd/4th quarter protection needs to improve a LOT. Rivers had no time to work in the pocket, but Whisenhut needs to figure out how to get Rivers quick check downs to put the D on its heals in these situations (never saw Woodhead / Brown running checkdown routes effectively in the 4th)
-Defense needs to be more conditioned, less stupid, and more mentally tough
-Our receivers need to get more separation. When you're blanketed on a 3rd and 4 when they're running a full house blitz you've got problems
-TE/middle field needs better coverage. Secondary in general was pretty weak. Hopefully Te'o provides more security over the middle because Bird can't cover worth of shyt
All I can think of for now, stay positive brahs.

well i'd love to say I was surprised but nope not even once. After that Cam Thomas flag on the FG I had a gut feeling that it was all over...this is the last time I stay up till 12:30am to watch the bolts blow it. Nope not Norv, not AJ, not McCoy...just another long year for a hopeful Charger fan.
There is some silver lining here however. Rivers looked sharp, Royal was actually impactful and Matthews ran hard. I'm not throwing in the towel yet, but I will be cautiously optimistic moving forwardϟ CHARGERS CREW ϟ

sigh... this game was basically a rerun of last year playing the broncos. huge impressive lead over a powerhouse and then blew our load to early and couldn't recover.
1st half though we looked amazing.
-Run D was solid as shiit.
-Pass defense did relatively well.
-Mathews..... running like a real runningback??? what is this?
-royal is living up to his minicamp potential
-Rivers is bake nicely. But god damn i can run faster than him on crutches.
-our O-line did a really good job keeping a solid defense from getting near Rivers.
2nd half.............
-loved the deep ball to floyd. pushing on the gas pedal even though were up in points.
-didn't think we made many protection changes leading to a ton of pressure
- holy chit bront byrd is useless in coverage. all 3 of the TE touchdowns he was covering them.
- Im hoping te'o can remedy that when he comes back since he was a pretty good cover lb at ND.
-our secondary... what the fcuk?? brb giving up ever single 3rd and long.
-the stats showing we were the worst 3rd down defense the past 2 years is embarassing.
-ZERO passrush from the backups. freeney and johnson did really well but when they rotated out i saw nothing in a pass rush.
Plenty of reasons to be optimistic for the rest of the season. but if we can't close out a fcuking game this is going to be a longg season[Official] San Diego Brah

I thought the bad playcalling would come to an end after Norv is gone...nope. 3rd and 20? Let's not have any semblance of pass rush and leave receivers wide open in the middle... 3rd and 5...lets play 10 yds off the receiver....etc etc etc. And Rivers is the biggest choker ever. Every time. You can just tell that he will have a moment where his mind goes blank like that at least one time a game.

I think these were the biggest reasons behind our demise, huge lack of depth...
If Teo is going to remain a pussy we need to get a legitimate Mike to fill in
JJohnson was an absolute beast but the second he was taken out there was a huge downgrade
Freeny looked sharp although it didn't show in the stat line. Our depth will continue to haunt the bolts, that is why they can't ever finish gamesϟ CHARGERS CREW ϟ

We still can't be happy with the way Rivers closes out games anymore. What did he have, 1 completion in the 4th?
And having ZERO running game doesn't help. And it's NOT on Mathews. Dude is running hard and fights his ass off for every yard. Our pathetic o-line creates zero running lanes. Man if we had that Texans o-line, I think Mathews could be a 1500 back (srs).ϟ CHARGERS CREW ϟ // Cubs // Blackhawks // Polska

we're workin on a deal now supposedly but i still dont think we have enough money to give him for an extension yet. unless we lowball the shiit out of him.
In our run blocking defense we were going up against the Texan's run D. its only one game so i hope they prove me wrong of how shiitty they are[Official] San Diego Brah
