    front and side lat raises

What lbs do you use when doing front and side lat raises. I only use 25-35lbs and I can not get past that. Just curious.

Damn. I normally do about 40 pounds on side laterals for 10 reps. Well, not right now cause I have decreased in strength and do 35's for 10. I bend forward slightly, and have a short pause at the bottom to prevent momentum and an even shorter pause at the top.

they are hard as hell side laterals. ALso i like to have a little bend in the arm rather than holding it out straight i feel it more in the side delts i also think it helps to lift a little more. but in terms of pound max 25

Raises for front, side and rear delts respondwithout using a lot of weight; On side laterals, you should FEEL it during the rom; make sure to keep your elbow up as high as your wrist and hold it for a few seconds at the top, then lower slowly. If you use too much weight, you will not be able to do these with proper form. There is an excellent video of Milos Sarcev and his punkboy on one of the FIT SHOW segments; its a two-parter about training shoulders, if you can find it......excellent video; good adivce. Good Luck!

Good to hear. I can do good form with 25-30 but lose a little form with 35. It just seemed low but seems about average.

for front raises i do two different styles, one where i am heaving the big weights and one where it is more controlled with an underhand grip.
for the heavy weights - 70 pound DBs- lighter, i drop down to 30s.
    side lats- typically around 40s

    Below 50 pounds.

I stay with heavy volume and repetitions.

alot of people say to stay low on the weight, and use a very controlled motion. I'm at 35's right now and i'm getting like 8-10 reps.
