Wow, please don't come to my competition! Haha.
Anyways, my name is Dan.
I am going to be competing in my first NPC competition in May 2009, the Illinois State Championships. I want to do a few more after that and might actually do one two weeks before in Rockford, IL. The Rockford, IL one is run by Kevin Noble. Anyways, I can't wait as it will be a nice start to my amateur bodybuilding career.Workout Journal: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=136492221

Kevin Noble show is the Grand Prix Natural which is a natural tested show. Not to discourage you in any way, but the IL State is a national qualifier that is very untested. If in fact you arent natural you should check out the Mid-Illinois on April 4 which is a good show to get your feet wet in. I am for sure doing the mid-IL and either the Ironman or Continental, I was going to do the IL State in may, but I am not happy with my size as I would have liked to be super heavy

Tested shows?
Hello to all, I am new to competitive body building but I am very curious about the whole world of BB. I have a question about the testing at shows. I have seen some guys that are clearly you know taking some enchancements. My Q is how is this regulated at different levels of comp? local / state / regional / nationals.
For example:
Two guys the same height, age and in the same class. But one guy is completely yoked / jacked up because of taking some enhancers. I have never been to a competition but I have guys in the gyms around me who use and there is no way I could even be compared to these guys.
So how is this regulated at different levels of comp?

My name is Damaris
I'm looking to bulk this year to 220lbs or so by Dec. 2009 and cut up to 198 for a spring show in 2010, I'm working with the president of Musclemania organization for a major promotion the coming year, the truth is he wants me to compete for musclemania and I think I have a very strong chance if I come in at 198lbs with like 4% bf to take the title.
But my goal has always been to compete in the IFBB and turn pro asap so there are two possible roads I can take which is compete at the musclemania or do a national qualifier show at light heavies and qualify for Vegas.
Most likely I will do the npc show and compete at 198lbs ripped to the bones and even though because of my height I probably would not be that competitive (most national light heavies are between 5'5"-5'8") I feel it would be a good introduction to the competition scene and even if I don't win my weight class at 198lbs I will bulk up to 240 or so the remaining of 2010 and come in 2011 at the limit or near to of the heavies and at 6' 225lbs or so the way my body carries it I feel that I would be very dangerous.
Either way I'm looking to compete with the best at their best and I'm in the greater Phoenix area in Arizona and I am looking to network with other bodybuilders so if you are in town and want to have a workout together ot exchange advices hit me up.....stay hungry
