y'know in most sports I've personally experienced playing at a young age teaches you discipline, honor, respect and those sorts of noble characteristics.

In powerlifting and strongman I've seen more cocky, arrogant and egomanical teenage competitors than disciplined respectful ones. Maybe its that they're setting records or something, but its sad to see.

Hickson is a great example of a cocky arrogant imp.

That's true but at the same time I don't think I've seen more comradery then at a meet. My first meet I showed up in athletic shorts, didn't even know you needed a singlet and two guys offered to let me borrow their squat suits that I'd never met before in my life

definitely I see a ton of comradery amongst the guys competing in subjunior, junior, open, and masters....its just the teens that I've seen that, "if you're not going to set a record why bother?" attitude.

3 days after rack pulling 650, the rack pulls were done a day after I got over FLU, and I am still 10 lbs lighter then normal.... and it was STILL easy.
