I realize I'm posting in an old thread so I hope I don't get negged for this but in my defense there have at least been other recent posts before mine... I am still confused about how rep points work even after reading through this thread and the FAQ thread linked earlier. When I look at one of my posts in a thread it says that my rep power is 0, and when I hover my mouse over the rep "bar" it says I have -10 rep points. When I go into my CP and view recent reputation, there are 2 entries - one positive and one negative. The CP also says I have -1933 rep points. So, I get what the rep power means - it means that it is basically meaningless when I try to rep someone. But what gives with the conflicting information on how much rep I have?

Why should it matter if you post in an old thread? If the information is still relevant I don't see the issue...? Better to build on what's already on here than to start a whole new thread IMO.

once you have over 50 posts you're rep power can go over 0.

check your user cp to see who's repped or negged you.

grey reps are when the person who repped you had 0 reps.

when you rep someone, the rep power they receive is your rep power, (beside green blocks) divided by 1000.

when you neg someone, the neg power they receive is your rep power, (beside green blocks) divided by 2000.
