Im going to keep this log to track my progress.I just started training at a school but I think im going to change schools to Ground control they have a Renzo Gracie black belt while my current instructor has no BJJ rank.Anyways I currently train MMA 2 days a week but im going to start training 3-4 days eventually.I will update everyday.

Monday 6/23
Monday 6/23-
AM Workout- One arm pushups- 5r,5l 5r,4l 4r,3l
One leg squats-3x5
Pullups-5x assisted 1 arm, 10 regular, 10 regular
50 jab cross
25 leg kicks each leg
25 knees to stomach each leg
1 arm sledge swings-3x5 each arm
25 push kick each leg
10 shots on a heavy bag
1 . Armbar drills-work on shifting hips and not crossing legs
1. Triangle Drills- felt good got it down
2. Half Guard-
Pass 1- head and arm pull leg through then use other leg to pry out.
Pass 2-head and arm elbow across head sit to a hip pull leg out and push down on partners leg.
Pass 3-head and arm elbow across head pull leg then back to head and arm then pull leg out and use the other leg to pry out.
Sweep- Get under hook grab belt other hand goes between leg and grabs opponents ankle fall back and flip opponent over make sure to secure his leg and make your way to side control.
3. Free Grappling-
Accomplishments- double leg take down, arm drag to back, escaped side control.
Goals- Defend gulliotine off takedown, work more guard passes, maintain side control, better back control, submit with a triangle, relax
Summary- Felt very good im picking up the new moves pretty quick. Really need to work on guard passes. Strength workout was good felt really strong. Overall very pleased with today.My MMA Training journal:

Tuesday 6/24
Tuesday 6/24-
Bag work-
50 jab cross
20 leg kicks each leg
5 head kicks each leg
25 push kick each leg
20 side knees each leg
20 straight knees each leg
10 shots on the bag
Conditioning-
Magic 50 with 35 lb DB
5 rounds of:
5 snatches
5 swings
10 burpees
No more than 45 sec rest between rounds.
Summary- Strikes felt really good toady and my shots are improving. The conditioning was intense I only took about 30 sec rest between most rounds.My MMA Training journal:

Tuesday 6/24
Got bored so I trained a little.
Heavy bag-
5 min focused on speed and power worked mainly my straight right and overhand
2 20 sec speed punching
Resistance band punches- 3x10 each arm, really focused on twisting my hips
Summary- Since Ive stopped lifting weights my punches have greatly improved in speed and power and I dont feel tense anymore when I throw them.My MMA Training journal:

Ground Control is one of the best teams on the East Coast... I highly recommend you go there. They have some pretty good pro and amateur fighters and consistently perform very well in the regional shows.
I do not know too much about Baltimore BJJ though, but I don't remember seeing any of their guys compete in MMA shows in the area.
If MMA is what you want to do, go to Ground Control.

Wedsday 6/25
Ok guys I just found out Ground control is only 7 miles from Baltimore BJJ. So when I get back next week from vacation Im going to schedule a Intro class and I will start training there. This will be my schedule.
Monday-No-GI BJJ
Tuesday-Boxing
Wedsday-No-Gi BJJ
Thursday-Muay Thai
Friday-Off
Saturday-Off
Sunday-Off
Anyways heres my workout I did today.
Condtioning Circut:
10 pushups
15 sec of constant Jab Cross
20 Resistance band pulls each arm
10 ab wheel rollouts
10 26 inch box jumps
10 sledge swings each arm
5 rounds with no more then 40 sec rest between rounds.

Today was a long day.I had to wake up at 7 30 and spilt wood from 8 am to 3pm.I had to pickup lift an flip logs that weighed more then 130 pounds.Anyways heres what I did when I got home.
Airdyne Bike Intervals:
5 intervals of 60 seconds with 60 sec rest
5 intervals of 30 seconds with 30 sec rest
This was actually alot harder then I thought it was my legs felt like jello afterwards.Oh yeah Im scheduling an intro class at ground control for the 11th or 12th.My MMA Training journal:

Well I really liked ground control Binky is a great instructor and a really nice guy.I will deffinatley be training here from now on.Any ways heres what we did yesterday.
Warm up-
Laps around the gym doing shuffles,sprints,kariokies and back pedals
2 sets of jumping jacks,seal jacks,crossovers and squats
Technique Work-
Transition from sidemount to mount
Transition to mount then Americana
Transiton to mount to Americana then partner grabs their arm and turn it into an armbar

Im really liking Ground Control I will be going tommorow for No Gi, Thursday for Muay Thai and most likley sunday for open mat.Any ways heres what we did today.
No Gi Technique work-
KIMURA from NS
1.North south
2.Take opponents right arm lock in kimura grip
3.Push opponent to his side
4.Take right leg and put it over opponents arm
5.Finish the kimura
Same steps as first move but opponent blocks the Kimura
1.Bring left foot up
2.Swing right leg over partners body
3.Fall back
4.Squeeze down with left leg on opponents head and right leg on lower back
