Had a really crappy day on Saturday. I went in for a squat session and hurt my back on a f'n pussy 315 for 8 reps. This has been a ongoing issue so I found a really good Chiro in town that believes in rehabing with ultrasound. I went in today and it made a big differance. One session today and it alreay felt good enough to hit heavy bench tonight.

    ME Bench

normal warm up Grip, Bies and Tris

bar x allot. 3 hand poss.
    135 x 45 3 hand poss.
    245 x 30 3 hand poss.
    335 x 10
    Add 3 board
445 x 3 x 2 Felt weak, back was still tight, no arch
    add SP 44 Katana
    495 x 5 freeking lightning
    545 x 3
    635 x 3
    675 x 3
    725 x 2 PR in SP
755 x 1 PR in SP shoulld have went for 3, Shirt was Jacked and It felt great! Gives me some good confidence for 2bd next week.

Mid pin rack lockouts - RAW 5 second pause at top
    405 x 5
    455 x 5 x 2

    Kennelly DB's
    40's x 10 x 3

Great night. Adrian is the newest member of the team. He is a 242 Lbs'er that benched raw 505 last meet. Great guy. He went up to 585 (raw) for 3 or 4 sets of 3 off the bd's tonight. Very good partner.

just read up on that super katana. sounds like a good shirt...especially for WABDL it may be the best you can use.

might have to think about it myself when i get ready for a new shirt...since its almost half the price of the super phenom i was using.

Looks like your really kicking ass with the one you've got now.

Right on Brother. Its a weird deal to me that Im finnally starting to understand. First time I went to 700 it felt like it was crushing me and I thought there is no way I can press this. (that was in a perfect fitting double ply) Spent two months there getting accustom to the wt then went back to a loose single ply for the last comp, so never handled anything over 635. Now working in the tight single and haveing time for a full board cycle, the 7's feel better than before in the double! Freaking weird. I honestly felt like I could have done a triple with the 755 in that shirt. I usually loose about 100lbs from a 4bd to the chest. I hope that is the case here cause then I would finally beat Dennis Cieri.

I used to think about that allot and doing heavy lockouts I got really bad wrist splints for months. So I started hitting lots of extra heavy grip work and now no problems.

Thanks bro. I go back and forth thinking about Ragex vs Katana. This new one might push me over the edge!

For sure. I hit grip at least 3 times a week. I think it has fixed my elbows and made the heavy bench "feel" allot better.

What grip work are you doing? I do grippers once a week, but thats about it. Try to do 5-6 sets with the higher resistance and then some volume work with lower stuff. I agree with it helping wrists though, mine feel so much better now that I use grippers.

Good workout as always Ben. I had a question for you too. I know you do those timed DB Presses for 2 minutes with light weight.....are you still pressing quick and explosively on those and getting as many reps as possible, or are you just going slow and controlled? Do you go to complete failure/fatigue? I am thinking of incorporating these into my light day.
    best lifts:
    bench press 380x1 315x7 225x 25
    squat: 525x1
    deadlifts: 520x1

I really liked those but have layed off a little lately. I think they are great but have just been lazy you know. After worlds Ill get back to them... The idea is to pick a wt you can only get 30 or so reps with. Of course in 2 minutes youll have time to do more than that. So you have to pace yourself by the second minute Im usually just trying to get 2-3 reps in a row and then finding the safest place to rest (top or bottom) Do the reps however you can get them. I would say im more explosive most of the time. Make sence?
