    Swimming

Hi, I am planning on swimming in the summer.
I will be swimming for about 45 mins and working out for 45 mins each day.
Should I swim, then work out, or work out then swim?

    Thanks!!!

When I did swimming my strength didn't improve and it actually decreased. Intense cardio helped in lowering bf though

what order you do them is irrelevant. just do themn at different times of day. i always find it hard to do cardio right after weights as vice versa. get rest and be sure to eat in between.

I have a hard time swimming after I lift. Swim on off days or at different times of the day.

You can lift weights on one day and on the next/rest days do a relaxing or intense swimming session.

If you lift every other day (which is best for strength gains and neural recovery), you can always do swimming every other day on the days you don't lift.

When you do this, it allows you to recover your Type II muscle fibres (these muscle fibres allow for hard explosive exercises like heavy bench or shoulder press.

On swim days you hit your cardiovascular muscles and work on your Type I muscle fibres (they are used for long periods of endurance like walking, standing, holding, and swimming).
