$14 dollars worth of wood. Already had screws. Could do it again cheaper and better, but I think this is good enough for now.
EDIT:
Here it is in action - holding 428 pounds while I do pull-ups on it....
Tell me again how it's gonna break when I put 200 pounds on it guys

it looks like you might need to add more support beams all around, especially the top and the sides

Pretty creative and thrifty of you. But if I were you, I'd add reinforcements to those blocks of wood holding the bar. I'd screw a 2x4 underneath each of those, into the mainframe. You can never build it too safe.
The more mass you have, the more ass you get.
The more cash you make, the more class you get.

And I would also securely wrap all the reinforcements in duct tape, to further increase the integrity of the construction. Practically mummify it in duct-tape, like 3-4 layers. That way, even if the wood cracks, the tape would hold it. And to make it even MORE stronger, I would tape metal pipes around the frames -- they will act like a "splinter", in case a fracture or compromise of the integrity occurs.

You guys are so silly.
Weight *feels* heavy and we all like to think we're real strong and all.
400 pounds ain't ****.
Seriously. Stop and look around you for a second. Your entire house is made out of 2x4s.
I think you are all greatly underestimating the strength of wood. I don't have weights yet, but I'll prove ya wrong.
