    Sets?

if i am working 5 different muscles in a workout(chest, shoulders, tris, wrists, and abs) is it okay to do about 25 sets or is that over doing it? I am trying to build strength for football and i was just wondering if that is too many sets?

Not sure if you're saying 25 sets per WORK OUT!?!? But if so, I'm gonna assume that that's a lot. as baznguy said 4 sets per work out should be good. I myself lift heavy and do 3 sets per each work out. For building strenth, I think you would want to lift heavier, with less reps on each set...someone correct me if I'm wrong.

A "work out" is a training session. If you only do 3 sets per work out you're either doing some lame HIT program or you're only doing a short warm-up. Either way you're wasting your time. The OP is talking about doing 25 sets per session. The other guy said he's doing 4 sets per exercise.
