i think splitting workouts into 2/day is good to keep your cortisol under control and metabolism up. something like intense workout in morning, slow cardio in afternoon. intense workout can alternate lifting and hiit depending on day.
i dont see a reason to do them one after the other on a restricted diet. never seen evidence that the intense activity will liberate fatty acids better than more low HR cardio. this sounds like it would elevate cortisol and hurt training intensity
