Do doing strectches like in ebooks that are ment for growing taller acutally work and how old should you be when you do them im 16 5'11. I will acutally do them if anyone here knows about it or got results.

yes they do. . OP should just hang from a chin up bar for one hour a day with limited breaks . . if u do this everyday for a month some report growing a quarter to a half inch (for best results repeat for 6 months)

A person's height can fluctuate by up to an inch throughout the day due to the effect that gravity has upon our frames (we're tallest in the morning, due to our lying down all night).
However, there is no evidence to suggest that stretching can affect your normal height. The only thing that attributes to your height is genetics and lifestyle (certain habits have been shown to stunt growth, like smoking).

so basketballer/volleyballers are tall by sheer coincedence are they,i used to strech when i was a lil kid by hanging of the banister in my house and used to try to touch the ceiling with both hands by jumping and when i succeeded i would move onto something higher i am no 6'2 and 100% confident that it works

And, stretches and exercise do work to a certain extent, but it still comes down to genes. I'd say it's probably 80% genes and 20% lifestyle.
If you think about it, a guy coming from a short family lives healthy (eats every 3 hours, exercises 30 min a day, sleeps 8+ hrs a night) for his whole life.. would 99% of the time still be shorter than a crackhead from a tall family. Look at third world countries, they have tall people who don't eat enough food. Sure, if they had better lifestyle and conditions they might be like 2" taller... but overall, it still comes down to genetics."Remember, if you are traning hard, he may be training twice as hard. You just gotta keep coming back stronger."

Stretches and Pilates work ,also Amino acids are essential for height growth.Especially Arginine , lisine and ornithine.
It is during deep sleep that growth hormone does its job of thickening and lengthening your bones. So appropriate sleeping time (not the longer, the better) and correct sleeping posture is very important for your body to grow. Sleep is defined as a natural periodic state of rest for the mind and body, in which the eyes usually close and consciousness is completely or partially lost, so that there is a decrease in bodily movement and responsiveness to external stimuli.
During deep sleep, growth hormone produced by your pituitary gland is released into your blood stream and travel through your body and causes the thickening and lengthening of your bones. Therefore, you should achieve "deep level" sleep on a daily basis in order to coordinate your affords of exercises and proper diet. The following are some helpful tips on how to easily achieve deep level sleep.
Sleep in a comfortable and firm mattress.
Sleep in a room that is dark, quiet and fresh smelling.
Sleep with clean, soft, and comfortable clothes.
Keep your hands and feet warm. Scientific studies have shown that warm hands and feet will help induce REM (rapid eye movement) deep sleep. Cold hands and feet will keep you from deep sleep.
Drink a big glass of water before going to bed and when you wake up; this will help clean out your system.
Practice total relaxation and deep breathing for a few minutes before you go to bed.
Relax from head to toe. Close your eyes and relax every part of your body.
Maintain a habit of sleeping at the same time everyday, including weekends.
Sleep on your back with a flat pillow under your knees. This will align your spine properly and prevent any back aches caused by sleeping in a bent position.
Undoubtedly, the quality, quantity, and type of food we eat affect our height, growth, and health. We cannot emphasize enough how important your food intake is in determining how much growth you can possibly obtain. The types of food you eat will either improve or decrease your growth potential.
After careful consideration and research, the daily content of protein, carbohydrates, fats and water can be achieved if the following items were taken regularly. Please take note that this is a guideline and you are free to your own thoughts.
Carrots Fish Liver
Egg Yolk Beef Red Meat
Milk Cheese Apples
Green Vegetables Potatoes Nuts
Yellow Vegetables Almonds Bananas
