adistars are for narrow feet. Definitely would not recommend them for wide feet(dowins, rogues, and vs athletics are good for wide feet).

Sorry for the delayed response.
Yes, I do find them to be somewhat narrow fitting. I have a narrow foot, so they naturally fit quite well. They most definitely fit in a similar fashion to that of my dress shoes (about half a size smaller than my street shoe).
I also have a pair of the Model A shoe from Powerfirm/Weightliftingshoes.ca which fit wider. When placed sole to sole, you can definitely notice the difference in width.

the rogues are great, i have a pair. I got them because I front squat 2-3 times/week. I am down to 2 because my school gym isn't open on weekends in the summer
My only complaint is the straps are too long because I have a narrow foot. I am thinking about cutting them shorter. When the straps are nice and tight, about an inch hangs off the shoe, and flops around.

Anybody know when the new Adidas are going to show up in the U.S.?
I really want to buy a pair, but I don't want to buy last year's model if the new ones are coming out in a few days. Plus, if the new ones are coming out soon, I might be able to get last year's models at a discount.

Well here's an update on my Adistars. I've had them since March and the little loop on the tounge that the laces go through that keep it in place have completely ripped through on both shoes. It's not a huge deal but you would think a $200 shoe would hold up a little better after less than 3 months. Other than that they're still going strong.

not sure which ones to get!!
I'm currently looking to invest in some weightlifting shoes; I'm looking at the Rogues or the new 2008 Model Do-Wins.
I will be using the shoes for squating both front and back, overhead pressing, pendlay rows, and both hanging & power snatches, and when I get more flexibility in my shoulders I will be trying to master the over head squat.
I wear a size 13 in both gym and dress shoes and i'm just wondering if I should go with a size 13 or 12.5. Also I consider myself to have somewhat narrow feet.

If you go for the Rogues or the Do-Wins you'll have to size down at LEAST .5 a size. Glenn at WFW or Bill at Rogue will happily exchange them if they don't fit. They are linked in the previous page.
If you have narrow feet, the Adidas weightlifting shoes might be best... but I'm not sure if they take exchanges as readily as the previous people I mention.
I suggest you contact Glenn Pendlay and ask him what he thinks is best. Here's his phone number and e-mail:

I talked to glenn on the phone yesterday and he told me to go with the 13's. If there are any problems just to send them back and he will be glad to replace them. So I went with the 2008 Model Do-Win's in Red, Black, Silver.

bumping this thread a bit, just wondering what would anybody suggest as far as shoes for a longer legged lifter, I have long femurs which do not make squats my friend, lol
if and when I replace my blue, black, and white adidas ironworks just wondering what I should go for.
I really like the look of the rogue shoes, plus a 5kg jerk PR sounds good, lol.
I can also get the adistars cheap for $120 from USAW since I'm a member
any suggestions are appreciated.'Prior to the Department of Education, there was no illiteracy'

Is there any brand that does real well for VERY wide feet? I have to wear 10 1/2 6E (XX Wide) shoes normally. I normally wear newbalance 855's for general working out/running, but I've blown out/crushed 2 pair doing my squats and deads. That gets kinda expensive @ $100 a pop. I've been looking at all the shoes listed here, and all I see is standard widths. I don't see any wides let alone XX Wide. I might could get bye with an X wide, I mean hell I'll just be standing there lifting, not like I'll be doing my cardio in them.
Thanks for any help.

the VS shoes are pretty wide, these oly shoes are pretty much supposed to be used for oly lifts and squats, I deadlift in my oly shoes but alot of people like to deadlift barefoot or with flat soles, alot of people carry 2 pairs of shoes for training (oly shoes and regular) so you could do that.
