    Dumbbell Rack

I was checking out the post of the guy who built the db rack from tubing and bed rails. I have access to some old bed rails, but am trying to think of something I could use for the base besides the tubing. Any ideas?

NTF-- That rack looks awesome but if I were you I would extend the bottom base so its alot sturdier and prevents a tipping-over accident. It doesn`t look like it could happen, but always be safe than sorry.

I agree 100% I had got lazy after I put the weights on the rack to check it out, then I saw that the weight's prevented the rack from tipping-over...so I will add that later.

Honestly I don't know I would have to go measure everything and that I will do when I get the time. I didn't have a set plan I just kinda had an idea of what I was going to do. I will send a PM too.

The actual measurements would be only if you know how much space your dumbbells take. I'm pretty sure NTF did measured how much room the dumbbells take and he designed it around that number.

The only thing I made lately in wood was a calf raise, lol. I don't trust my own made rack when I have to rack from 10 to 75lb dumbbells and thats why I went with Body Solid GDR60 rack. It`s an awesome rack.

    DIY Wooden dumbell Rack

This is a reply to a very old thread, but might be helpful to some home builders. I looked at the great design posted by Nine-Tailed Fox, and then put together some measurements on the build. The results can be found, together with measurements for building your own dumbell rack, at:

    *****://wmastop.com/shares/Webpages/Build_your_own_Gym_stuff.htm

Thank you again to Nine Tailed Fox for his excellent design - a great bit of work!
