Wow....cleaned up nicely eh?
Skip, do you eat something or drink a protein shake right before bed? I usually down a protein shake right before I hit the sack because ill be "fasting" all night. Im starting to question it though. Just wondering.
Also, what do you feel about eating before doing Cardio? I usually eat like say 30-45 minutes before I hit the bike and I am wondering if this is a good strategy and what should I be eating before a cardio session so I dont lose musle mass.
Thanks.

I am...at least, for now.
Tyrus has not trained in a lower rep style--so I am sure he is capable of a lot more. Especially, when he starts building more and more confidence with the Mass Machine Training Program.
He's a big, strong kid with tremendous passion and an incredible work ethic. You'll be able to watch him pack on muscle mass right before your eyes with the project we have planned (more on that later).
And, most importantly, you will be able to learn along side of him and use his journey as motivation to take yourself to the next level.

Skip, have you ever tried any non-AST prohormones? I recently started taking them again for the first time since AST stopped making them, and I was wondering if you had any input.

No. What I know is what I read in the ads and what other people have to say about them.
I have no plans to carry them in my Mass Machine Nutrition line.

hey
I have been pretty well on track with where im headed with my mass gains only to have this one question keep popping up in my mind, and i wanted an answer from someone who actually knows their stuff. protein poisoning. up till recent months ive stepped my shake consumption from 50g to 75g (neighborhood) and heard about this coming from encyclopedia of bodybuilding (now by some to be considered outdated as a source, i think anabolic primer might have said this). is there a threshold for consumption at which ones liver (being the bodys filter) gets put under abnormal stress. Obviously size and frame have their consideration in determining this. if i WERE to determine my livers size/ fluid capacity do you know a calculated constant or some other conversion that would give me an educated guess of what my limit is? or if not at least a ball park guess for a 5' 5" guy at a 14% bodyfat reading and aprrox 82 lbs lean muscle mass (i weight around 190 usually). 75g doses are helping immensely in my growth but i dont want to ride too hard on my liver. hate to have late life replacement. your thoughts?

"What are the TOP 5 INDICATORS you've had an AWESOME workout? Have you ever taken the time to think about that question--or do you make a "gut assessment" afterward? How would the quality of each session IMPROVE if you 1) Created a list; 2) Scanned it for just 5 seconds BEFORE every session; and 3) Scanned it for just 5 seconds AFTERWARD? How much would this simple "discipline" improve your training habits over time?"

Why does everyone love to make things so damn complicated? It ain't rocket science. Do what works and grow. I alternate 3 whole food meals and 3 shakes with milk. That would make it 6 meals. Not that hard to do. If i took the shakes right after the whole food meals to make it 3 meals like all of the rocket science research suggest, i'd feel bloated and pass gas like a cow, Now if i didn't have access to sups and had to eat more whole food instead, I'd still space them out. I remember in the beginning, when i was still eating 3 meals, I'd sit 1 h long for each meal. Because I was so full and had to force feed myself. Eating became slow and dragging torture sessions. Fighting down the food was harder than fighting the weight up. If your way works for you, then do it. Do what works and get results. For me, bbing science means little. Personal experience is what matters.

This type of training is for natural bodybuilders.
It's not so much about the LENGTH of the workout. It the intensity and progressive overload that you do within that short time frame.
Chemically enhanced bodybuilders can recover from their intense training sessions faster than a natural bodybuilder and, therefore, natural bodybuilders can't train each body part as frequently.
I'm not sure how Mr. Nubert explained his training process, so I can't honestly comment on it.
I encourage anyone who is determined to become the very best they can be to give each training program they are interested in their full focus, commitment, and attention for a predetermined period of time.
That way, you will actually FEEL the difference. Many people sit on the sidelines and do a lot of "theorizing" as to what's the best approach for them. Sometimes, you just need to make a DECISION and go for it--knowing full well that you can change that decision later.Read my personal story "I Kept This A Secret From You My Entire Natural Bodybuilding Career" ===> www.skiplacour.com/is-this-all-there-is

Skip,
Love the actual training footage where you provide tips. Some cardio training footage might also be cool. Also, while reading your photo journal, I found I really enjoyed when you discussed your feelings about your progress and challenges (i.e. been having great workouts, haven't been focused, have nagging injury, flu, etc) - many of which I could relate to. It was somewhat comforting to know that even Skip La Cour had days where he just didn't particularly feel like squatting, but the lesson was that you went in and sometimes had the best workouts on those days, and I use that to help drive myself.
Don't know if anyone else would enjoy this, but I always appreciate watching some of the other aspects of bodybuilding - some of the food prep, maybe - again, as we can all relate, and share ideas. I think this is a really cool project and greatly appreciate you doing this. I hope it can become an interactive journey where we can all share ideas and feelings and become MASS MACHINES!

I would love to know how you handle the mental bit right before you do a heavy set, how you can pump yourself up to be able to perform the set with maximum intensity,
some sets i just nail it and i can perform like a animal, but some sets i cant seem to get it right and my performance suffer from it.
Also, are there any advantages to taking Glutamine on non training days? if so, how should it be taken? (along with a meal replacement?)
Thanks Skip, i love these video segments that you post with Tyrus

Skip,
I am currently doing 5 days MAX-OT weight training and 3 days MAX-OT cardio,
I plan on upping my cardio to 5 days a week,
I noticed you wrote that you do cardio 5 days a week.
My question is do you do cardio on leg day? or do you have it off, and do cardio on saturday for example?
Thanks mate loving this thread & mass nutritionLast edited by andrewa; 10-11-2010 at 05:18 PM.
