I haven't noticed any negative side effects since I started taking this supplement about 6 months ago. But having said that I haven't had a blood test since then either.

Side effects:
1. Increased aggresiveness, testosterone increase, sex drive
2. Acne
3. Even brain activity working overtime, sometimes leading to depression
I wouldn't take it in huge quantities like I used to, 200 mg or below from now on but still skeptical about supplementing it all over again.

I have never noticed any major side effects. Probably increased Libido and a little more aggresive.
Tribulus enhances testosterone levels by increasing luteinizing hormone (LH) levels. LH is responsible for "telling" the body to produce testosterone.
One interesting fact is that extended use of 'anabolic steroids' reduces levels of LH, thus reducing and sometimes shutting down the body's production of testosterone.
So Tribulus is a much safer alternative as it does not cause the body to shut down its own natural Testosterone and does not seem to raise Estrogen levels either.Believe to Achieve

I cycle it as the bottle suggests, 8 weeks on 2 off. It's hard to say exactly what Tribulus has provided me with in the gym. At the same time I began taking it I increased my daily amount of protein. But since I've done that I've gotten stronger, increased muscle size, gained a little more hair on my body, and a better product when I look in the mirror.

Hello,
In certain tests it's shown to be a moderately effective fertility treatment for men by increasing sperm count at about the 90+ day period with continued usage at at least 750mg a day and sometimes dosed up to 1500mg a day. At about 90 days taper the dose to 500mg per day and the effect stays until you discontinue using it.
Other than sperm count increase and treating people who with it who haven't gone into puberty there really isn't much it will do in a young and healthy man.
It's been shown to create lutenizing hormone in subjects who have hormonal deficiencies but LH needs to aromatize into another hormone through enzymes. That means it could become estrogen or growth hormone or insulin or testosterone. It doesn't automatically become testosterone. So, raising LH levels won't guarantee you only testosterone, estrogen will very likely increase with it and you'll likely see a greater spike in estrogen than test. The big reason why trib spikes testosterone is because the testes work more to produce testosterone when lutenizing hormone is present in high enough levels.
Here is where you must read very carefully and understand something. Your trib very likely won't work. Why? If your lutenizing hormone is already sufficiently high and your testes are producing enough testosterone already, then tribulus won't have much of any effect on testosterone levels. It really only works on people who are severely deficient of lutenizing hormone in tests. When healthy, young subjects are tested with tribulus, the effects on test levels don't show up like they did in the hormonally deficient subjects.Last edited by tombstone3@cox.net; 01-14-2007 at 09:34 AM.

So if a supp doesnt mention anything about cycling, one shouldnt have to worry about cycling then?
Sounds good to me
So what is needed for the LH to aromatize and not become anything else but testosterone?Ravens fan and Gators fan 4 life

There are anti-aromatase drugs that are prescription only and I wouldn't recommend them. The estrogen increase isn't likely going to cause side effects. Many men have slightly higher than normal estrogen naturally but suffer no ill-effects. If you are young then the most tribulus will do is simply make you more likely to get women preggers.

Wow...tribulus is complicated. I wont be taking it by itself. I'll be taking it in a hornoy goat weed product that also has yohimbe. Ok so answer me this question, if I take tribulus(well this HGW product), will I notice a test-boost without any side-effects? This test boost benefiting me sexually and in the weight room?

I found tribulus a total waste of time and money, i have never been depressed but experienced a huge amount of depression after the 4th week on it and panic attacks as well as acne, and after all that only seemed to put on fat. So i suggest if you are serious about testostrone boosting you might as well go the full hog and take roids the side effects are basically the same, well in my books they were, and at least you see gains.

Reading comprehension lacking? This question was answered already in what I wrote earlier. Just re-read it. If you don't understand it, not my problem. To understand what a supplement or any drug does, sometimes it seems complicated but this isn't. I wrote the dosages that tests have been conducted with and you simply need to read the label to find the amount of tribulus in that product. IMO, the only Tribulus that will likely work are contained in only TWO products. Thermolife's Tribosten and Sopharma's Tribestan. Both use the same source for their Tribulus and contain more of the active ingredient than any other company's product.

Ok no need to say I lack reading comprehension. I was just trying to understand what you were saying. I mean you did explain everything nicely, but you never actually said if you recommend it or not.
Yeah, I think I'll pass on steriods. Did you get alot of acne? Did you get acne at all before taking tribulus? I mean I just naturally dont get acne, so would that part not affect me?Ravens fan and Gators fan 4 life

If you are over the age of maybe 35 then it *MIGHT* make a difference in your test levels. If you have serious hormonal problems where you lack testosterone it might help you. If you are coming off a cycle of steroids where your hormone levels are all down, then it could help you. If you are a normal, healthy young man then it's not going to do anything other than make you more fertile after 90 days.
Do I recommend it? No. It would be a waste of money for you in my opinion.Omega-3 fish oil

For me trib increased my placebo receptors but my body quickly upregulated to the point where I no longer responded to it.
That which does not kill you makes you stronger.

Rav, i have very good skin and hardly had a pimple at all on my face through teen years and nothing at 23, i broke out in hundreds of little white heads all ova my face it was gross while on tribulus, i have also heard that it doesnt do much for those under 30 since testrone levels from teens to 30 are already high and tribulus testostrone boosting properties dont elevate them much more.

well you need to get blood work done to see if you have low T, if it is low you also need to find out why. Then start looking for supplements. Ive raised mine from around 270 ng/dl to 750 ng/dl, last time I checked which was months ago, using products combining tribulus, tongkat ali, and ZMA. I recently added 6-oxo and increased tribulus dosage. again, if your current T is already high, these things probably wont be much use.

You could go 2 months on, 1 off. That is what I would recommend. Does Trib. work? I believe it works for me, im more aggressive, more vascular, a little harder, libido is UP. Testes have slightly increased in size, I sleep better at night, and have vivid dreams on Trib. (I usually never have dreams). I have more energy throughout the day. Bad side is the acne problem, which could be directly related to a TEST increase.... I believe there are people that are Trib responder and people that are non Trib responders. Like me, I dont respond well to stims, from low amounts, to extremely high amounts.
Anyways, there are not enough studies on Tribulus to make any conclusions, other than it "may"/"may not" increase TEST...If your as fit as me, then there are too many Spartans on this planet....

"Tribulus components don't convert to testosterone
Supplements based on the Tribulus terrestris plant do not contain testosterone precursors. Nor do they raise the body's testosterone production. Doping hunters at the University of Lausanne in Switzerland were convinced of this after doing tests with Tribestan, a Tribulus product."
