Since people seem to be bumping this, I might as well throw this in here. I plan all of my own meals except dinner, and never ask or expect the family to prepare something that fits my macro needs. The only place that can sometimes be an issue is my protein needs, so I like to look for quick and easy protein dense foods to supplement dinner (besides shakes all the time). I was buying beef jerky at the store for a while but most of them came with more carbs than I would like, and then I came across this at Amazon:
While it's not cheap when calculating the $/gram of protein, it is a nice change of pace and provides an instant source of very protein dense calories. It is softer than jerky and almost reminds me of pastrami.

Have you ever tried making it yourself? It's not that difficult and if you like experimenting, you might find a recipe that you like better than the store bought products. I would make quite a lot. So much so that I used toothpicks to hang the meat from the racks in my oven (you must use aluminum foil or cookie sheets to catch the drippings).
My goto healthy snack is sunflower seeds still in the shell. I can eat for 30 minutes or so and not consume more than 200 calories due to the time that it takes for me to get the seed out of the shell. I really think that it's contributed positively to my cholesterol values too.
