Question less calories on off days? (clean bulking)

how do you guys feel about cycling calories on days that you work out? right now i can either eat 3200 every day, or 3500 on workout days and 3000 for recovery.

if it matters i'm 5'10, 170, ~20% BF, maintenance is 2750-ish (not too sure), eating as clean as i can, and doing a solid 3-day split

As long as it averages out to be almost the same both would work.

keep your calories the same. dont change your diet.

when you are not working out, your body uses the excess calories to recover.
If your parents didn't have children, chances are you won't either.

I agree this is when your actually growing (putting on muscle mass) and recovering. It is just as important to continue eating the same if not more on your off days!

I wouldn't cycle calories, but just carbs on off days. That's just me though.

meaning keep the same calories and eat more fats/protein and less carbs? or the same fats/proteins and less carbs (and less calories)?

    yeah thats what he means...

on workout days I eat 2800 calories and 300g of it is carbs

on non-workoutdays I eat 2800 cals and more like 200g of carbs and more fats/pro and I usually eat my carbs early in the day like my first 2 meals.

and slowly tapper them down and get them mostly from veggies in the evening.
