How long does it take for skin to retract?

Obviously it depends on fat lost and in the amount of time, but is there any general rule? Like say if one just lost 10 pounds in 6 to 8 weeks, how long will it take? Thanks.

You mean if your fat and lose weight, how long does it take for the loose skin to retract? i didn't think it did... because i've seen people on those weight loss shows lose tonnes of weight then have to have a operation to remove the excess skin.

Skin elasticity depends on many different factors. Oftentimes skin can become stretched to the point where it will not/cannot return to its normal state. In those cases the excess skin can be removed via surgery.

Several factors help determine whether your skin retracting. Age, pace of fat loss, and muscle gain

I've been up and down in weight and at one point lost 20 lbs in a couple of months. I did not notice any difference in my skin.

So is someone going to give me a general idea, or just keep beating around the bush?

Fill that sucker in with muscle. Either drink lots of water or stay in the sun to tighten the skin.

If not, do what we came to body BUILDING! and BUILD MAN BUILD fill in the flab like i am doing.

there is no general idea.. it's different in each case.. for some it may never retract and for others they may not get loose skin at all.

although if it has a lot of stretch marks it will take longer.. half my stomach area has a lot of stretch marks and it's noticeable flappy skin on one side and fairly tight on the other heh.

Results will vary. There is no magic day your skin retracts. For some people the skin adjusts as the weight is lost, for others it never adjusts. Building up the underlying muscle will help normalize the appearance of the overlying skin.
