Sorry for the crude title, I'm not sure how else to explain it. Is this normal...or cause for concern? No troll.

There are more than a few videos around of powerlifters, uh, following through on a max effort. I once peed a little on a max deadlift and I can't even blame that on having had kids because I never have. So no, not that rare - just be careful what you eat and drink before you train.

Probably doesn't say good things about my maturity level that this
and this
cracked me up- thought the second one took me a few minutes to figure out.
But in all seriousness, might be worth a Dr. visit just to make sure- maybe that musculature is weaker than it should be and you need a kegel-type exercise or something.... A hernia or prolapse would not be fun. I work with animals and that sort of stuff does happen with too much straining...My training journal: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=150928103

I believe it has to do with the central nervous system (CNS). There are essential functions that your body takes care of passively, however, when lifting heavy all your system resources may go toward weightlifting while taking away from the more passive functions. This is why people urinate when scared, and it's been reported here that many barf when doing squats or dead lifts as their CNS takes away from digestive functions and diverts it to the lift.
