    bananas

are moderate GI foods that contain mainly sugar (http://www.nutritiondata.com/facts-C00001-01c20Tm.html). Don't worry about their digestion time.. you normally see golfers/tennis players have these in between holes/sets on espn too

A banana has about 20-30g of carbs depending on size so it may help.. it will aid in your workout IF you are not taking in a proper pre workout meal 45mins-1hr before going to the gym.

well i have read to have a solid meal 2 hours before and then i take my arganine and creatine on an empty stomach 45-30min before and then right before like 15-20 min i have a whey shake and i read to take 40 grams of slower carbs with it. i have just been taking my whey in pomagranite juice. does it have a high gi or would something else be better?

Why don't you just have a predominantly carb meal and hour before you workout, your goodies (creatine, arg and what have you) 20-30mins before workout and skip the whey/carb/banana shake? If you do not have problems eating near your workout, this may give you less trouble and there's nothing 'wrong' with doing so..

I'm not sure how quickly digested pomegrenate juice is but as with most juices vs whole fruits, the former aren't really gonna be digested slowly.

Well what a Nutritionist/ex Weightlifting Coach/Know it all told me was that it's pointless taking them before exercise as they take 8 hours to digest. He specifically mentioned Tennis players taking them lol, just Placebo.

you'd be better off taking the whey 15-20 min after your workout because thats when your muscles need the protein

The only thing that would take even close to 8 hours to fully digest would be a massive thanksgiving-like meal consisting mostly of fats...

Most BB meals will be, for the most part, digested in 2-3 hours... in an ideal situation.

The time can vary alot based on the health of your digestive system, and how well you chew. though.

A banana would not take very long to digest -- longer than 15-20 min, though.

If you want the fastest boost of carbs, drink some kind of sports drink..

Watch Tiger play a round . He eats like 2 or 3 a round.

I also eat 2 or 3 of them around.
