Even though many people won't like it, I am glad you came off the way you did. It may sound like a call for sympathy or a call for attention, but I believe people need to see it. Cause let's face it: America is made up of spoiled and whiny bitches! Especially around the holidays, I swear, I got so pissed when I see kids cry when they don't get thier Xbox 360, and then I see the parents break down and get it for them. I hate it when I see parents complain about prices and lines. All I want to say is "why don't you be damn thankful for being home and with your family! Why don't you be thankful that you actually have the opportunity to wait in line to buy gifts for your kids!"

But what really gets me are the the people who cheat on their spouses who are serving in the military. They complain that they are away for a long time and how they are so lonely. WTF!!!! The guy is overseas in the biggest sausage fest ever, and you have the nerve to cheat on him cause you were LONELY! **** YOU BITCH! I am here getting shot at, eatting when I can, and you **** some dude cause you were lonely!!!!

The Soldier Awakened

A soldier, I puzzled, some twenty years old,
Perhaps a Ranger, huddled here in the cold.
Alone in the dark, he looked up and smiled,
Standing watch over me, and my wife and my child.
"What are you doing?" I asked without fear,
"Come in this moment, it's freezing out here!
Put down your ruck, brush the snow from your sleeve,

For barely a moment I saw his eyes shift,
Away from the cold and the snow blown in drifts..
To the window that danced with a warm fire's light

I respect every person who has gone over, every person who has done basic training, but I feel more than that. I used to be an overweight little kid, trying to act hardcore. I grew up, dropped the weight, bulked back up, but always had a feeling like I was meant to be there, like I was meant to be a Marine. Life just interfered; now I have a girlfriend of 3 years, rent, school, bills. I wish I could go back to graduation day, tell everyone to go to hell and enlist. I've been in the office with the papers in hand 2 times. I respect each and every one of you and I wish everyday that I could be one of you.
