I'm in -- I'm brand new to the BodyBuilding.com forums, and after going to college, I gained a TON of weight -- the freshman 50 and the Jr 10 for a total of 60 pounds total. I went from 180 to 230/240
If we need any prizes, my online company would be willing donate an iPod shuffle to the decided winner.
height - 5' 11"
weight - 235
bodyfat - ???
tape measurements - ???
pictures - ??? [i'll go get a digicam and take come pics soon]
Anyhow, this contest is just what I need. Would it be hard to cut back down to 180 if I went intense? (I know lbs aren't important, mass/bf% is, but I don't have a BF% to compare to).
Also, I could use a lot of help in getting started. What all should I get in order to track my progress? BF% Scale, measuring tape, digicam, scale, anything else? Does anyone have any good recipes/nutrition hints they would like to share? I have read the nutrion thread and recipes thread, but the recipe thread seemed dominated by keto recipes, not so much the kind of cutting I was going for.
Anyhow, I'm really looking forward to this -- I was wondering when a new one would begin so I could get started!

nice gesture, but giving out prizes causes the thread to become too commercialized...then half of the posters in this thread will end up being suppliment company reps pimping their products as prizes so they can get free advertisements. I think it would be good to keep the thread commercial/prize free to keep it on track and keep suppliment companies from taking over this thread

I'm in. I need the additional accountablity that this will provide. I am about half way thru BFFM and have a good gym routine going. Motivation is at an all time high.
1)I will be alternating arms\legs 6 days a week at the gym for 40 minutes.
2)I will be doing 15 minutes of HIIT after lifting. Stairmaster speed intervals at level 10. It hurts real bad.
3)I will be following BFFM to a T.
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 260
Waist: Will measure 1\1\07
BF%: Will measure 1\1\07
Chest: Will measure 1\1\07
This is going to be a good year.
Have a good one,

Voting
I will make a voting poll thread at the end of the contest in the Losing Fat Section
Use photos from January and photos from the end of May, and have everyone at bodybuilding.com vote in a poll thread
each contestent will be responsible for posting his/her photos in the voting thread when it is made(the thread will be made at the end of May)
feel free to post photos/updates/comments/workouts/diets/questions/answers anytime in this contest thread
if you don't have photos, I guess we will go by measurements
anyways, the voting is not that important
everyone is a winner for trying
but I guess we need a final vote to make it a true contest
that's about it, the thread will run itself from now onLast edited by new2lifting; 12-28-2006 at 05:48 PM.

I think I'm gonna jump in on this as well. I wont know my starting weight until jan.10th though as I don't have a scale. I will give an idea of my bodyfat % though before then. Last weigh in I was 228lbs dec. 23rd. I was gonna start a 2007 12 week cutting contest again this year since I was in the one last january but this is already going so I'll jump on this.
I let myself go bigtime eating whatever I wanted/doing zero cardio since about june so I have quite a big mess to clean up. Motivation of others is a great resource and I hope everyone sticks it out!
