No offense, but the best part about being American and having foreign friends is that they are generally so obsessed with our country that they know more about what is happening in the US than most Americans. housing would be unaffordable for most even without foreigner buying. 50% of Australia's population live in melbourne or sydney. Then everyone wants to live within 10km of the CBD. You cannot make more land. Plenty of cheap properties outside those areas.
