2022 Toyota Tundra looks to be ugly as chit

    https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a3...tundra-leaked/

The next-generation Toyota Tundra is likely to arrive soon as a 2022 model.
We've seen spy photos and leaked images of the new truck, and it looks like it will be very different than the current model.
    Expect a twin-turbocharged V-6 engine rather than a naturally aspirated V-8.

Like the turbo 6... but good God thats hideous. Looks like they took a Chevy and made it worse.

I traded my 2014 Sequoia Platinum for a 2021 Sequoia TRD Pro because it kind of looked like the next gen stuff was going to suck, at least at first.

I love me Sequoias, especially the TRD PRO.... BUT. Dude. Come on. That interior is directly out of a 2007 Tundra. It's so bad.

Toyota is notorious for vanilla interiors. That’s one reason I like my 06 Tundra. Simple interior and easy to maintain.

The current outgoing ain't too shabby. IMO the 2020 is quite refined.

However, Toyota is legitimately ****ing with Sequoia owners by giving them that OG 2nd gen 07 tundra cabin... This is done on purpose so the Sequoia does not interfere with the Land Cruiser or even the Highlander.

I've owned a first gen myself and have a 1st gen Sequoia as a beater (modded to hell, I coulda bought another land cruiser)... I have no problems with the 1st gen interiors simply because they date back to 1999.. The 2020 Sequoia interior is atrocious... If the 2020 Sequoia even had the interior from a 2020 tundra it would be a game changer.

They’re actually discontinuing the Land Cruiser in the US this year.

Yep, the Sequoia is taking it's spot with a redesign soon (rumour). Another rumour with spy shots is a 300 series land cruiser coming soon.. Might not come to the US but people are holding their breath.

It's not like any year of Tundra is known for it's gorgeous looks, but that's not why people buy them.

I've never really understood buying a pretty truck. Remote start, push button start, heated seats, ACC and auto high beams is all I care about and every single new truck likely has all of these.

Will hopefully get real pictures here next month.

Kind of pointless to knock how it looks when it’s puzzle pieced renderings from low rez partial spy shots.

Toyota is notoriously conservative with its designs. Wouldn’t expect anything crazy or out of line with its current trucks (tundra, Tacoma, 4Runner). I actually hope it takes some design cues from the 4Runner / Tacoma as I think they have great looking front ends.

    tundras

Tundras and most Toyotas use the cheapest steel possible in their frames. They are notoriously weak. Would never let a loved on drive a Toyota product because how ****ty they are made. They are all absolute garbage and anybody who knows anything about cars would stay far away from them. They do horrible in car accidents. Ask any salvage wrecker what its like to see Toyotas in car accidents. SMH!

Remember you can customize the crap out of it to really make it your own. Toyota interiors are pretty well put together. I've been in thousands of cars trucks and suvs.

I have a 2005 Sequoia that sits in the corner of my parking lot which is used for odd ball jobs, towing, and road trips to mexico... Albeit the suspension is heavily modified, the truck and the drivetrain has 234k miles and it runs, drives, and idles smoother than any brand new car out there other than a rolls royce. That 2UZ-FE is something else, bonafide million mi. Better than the current 5.7. Smoother, more reliable. Same goes for a 100 series Land Cruiser/ LX 470 which are the most stout vehicles the planet has ever seen. http://www.trucktrend.com/how-to/pro...-the-tear-down

I've seen the current gen Tundra crash test videos, they're not as good as the others. Regardless, don't plan on getting into any crashes in any car. Knock on wood.

Tasteful choice. Values have sky rocketed. Good luck with your search and if you get one post it up. Hnnng vehicles. IMO and many many other enthusiasts 100 series>200 series, and that's not to bash on the 200 whatsoever.

They are high. If I truest was going to spend that much money I’d personally get a Silverado. Those are badass trucks. The farmers use them everyday in fields and beat the **** out of them and get well over 300000 miles. They don’t even change the oil regularly. When it would rain all the time a abs lm the Tacoma’s and fords would be riding with whoever had a Silverado or a z71. Mf with 35000 miles would be driving like a Cadillac

Ram is having to make a comeback from the hole they put the brand in, unreliable, cheap materials, bottom of barrel truck, throw away... etc. They've made a come back, interiors are one of the nicest of all trucks but resale still lagging.
