I cannot imagine doing that to my parents, and I've been depressed. Dude was loved and well known in the community, if it was bad he should have gotten help. I'm sure he was hurting but it's a fraction of the hurt his mom and dad are gonna have.

For some people oblivion is the best option. I am not talking about his case, but suicide can be a complex consideration of many thoughts and not just a lazy reaction to a hard life.

He obviously had some genetics/chemical issue however. Maybe it was passed down, or maybe he just couldn't handle whatever was going through his life. Who knows, anyway RIP he was an amazing rogue back in the day.

I have no doubt the clown world of social media and TWITCH will have people trying to cash in on this and pretend they care. How anyone can stand what these communities have become now is beyond me.

I will add, people can be cruel but you can't go having an ironhand on speech and words because then you just open the door for exaggerated interpretations. Yes people can be cruel and mindless, but billions of people also deal with this and still go on.

I disagree with the point that some people are fukked/can't be helped, kind of sends the wrong message to those who need help. I've been in that deep dark place too where my entire world was shattered.I was severely depressed at the time and I never actually thought about suicide, but I understood that the pain I was going through would cause some people to consider it. Everyone has something going on, some more than others, and some people just have a much harder time dealing with their problems. I don't know who this guy was, but I still get upset when someone is so heavily beloved by a community, friends, and family. I had a bestfriend in high school who was going through a really really dark moment in his life. His parents were getting divorced because his mom cheated on the dad. He fell behind in school and sports, resorted to alcohol, dog had to be put down, his grandfather passed, girlfriend broke it off with him, and got kicked off the football team for being drunk at practice. It was like he lost the will to live and be himself, and it was like seeing a shell of a person just going through the motions. We tried so hard man to bring him back up and there were flashes of him coming around like a smile or a terrible ass corny joke that he loved making. He eventually went to go live with is dad in a different town and got transferred to a different school. We would always call and text him, play Xbox with him, and go over every weekend to hang out with him. I guess being in a new town, going through problems, and not knowing who to turn to for help kind of hurt him. He went to the school guidance counselor crying and needed help. There were no guidance counselors in their office because they took an early lunch, and not one of the five were there to help someone. He went to the main office and sat down where they said someone would help him. He sat there crying for an hour and no one stopped to see if he was okay. He ran out of the office and left the school. I was in class when I got a phonecall from him, so I picked it up, told my teacher to eff off, and went into the hallway. He sounded totally fine, and he just wanted to let me know that I was a great friend to him, and that he appreciated everything our friend group was doing. He said that he never thought it would get this bad, and that he was sorry for everything that he did, which I told him that everyone goes through a rough time, and if I didn't have him as a friend, I don't know what I would do. He said he just kind of came to this euphoric moment of understanding how much messed up stuff he had done, the people he had hurt, and he wanted to make it right. I told him that I would come over after practice, I'd bring the boys, and we'd just chill. He told me that sounded perfect and that he would be waiting for me at the door. I told him I loved him, and he replied "I love you too man" and he hung up the phone. 5 minutes later he jumped off a bridge.

He had called 7 people before he did what he did. I was the second to last person he called. He called our other 5 friends before me, the first 3 picked up and the next two couldn't answer because of a test. Then he called me, and then he called his mother, who didn't answer the phone. Once everything happened they did and investigation with what happened. I wonder all of the time about how things could have gone differently. I wonder if his mom didn't cheat he wouldn't fall down that path. I wonder if just one of those guidance counselors was there in that office how they could have helped him. I wonder if someone in the main office in the school stopped what they were doing and helped a kid sitting down crying. I wonder if our other two friends had picked up the phone if it could have made a difference. I wonder if his mom picked up she'd realize what happened. I wonder if someone driving on the bridge saw why a car was parked on the side of the road and why someone was walking on the bridge. Then lastly, I wonder all of the time if I could have said or done something differently during our conversation. It will always haunt me for the rest of my life if I could have done anything differently. I tried my very best to be a good friend and I feel like it is partly my fault even though I know it isn't. Each and every person who knew him felt some kind of blame. The kid was fukking 16 years old, and he had the world thrown at him, but what I don't think he knew was that he had all of us behind him. He was smart, athletic, and good looking. He had everything going for him and things took a turn for the worse.

No matter how alone you feel, there is someone out there who will be able to help you. Whether it be a stranger, a family member, a medical professional, or even more, a friend.
