    Curling in the squat rack??

A bit of a rant, but i had to wait 20 minutes to squat tonight for some A hole to finish his straight bar curls and reverse wrist curls in the squat rack. Nothing grinds my gears more than this. Seems like this goes on every night at my gym

Did you ask if they would mind doing the curls somewhere else, because you needed the rack for squatting?

If not, maybe try that next time.

Who take 20 minutes to curl? I'd personally rather wait on a curler than another squatter. Those guys could be in there for 50 minutes.

Probably the worst offense anyone can commit at the gym. Mine only has 1 squat rack and waiting on some idiot taking up valuable real estate to do curls, pullups, or deadlifts infuriates me.

I do pullups on the power rack at my gym, but if anyone wants to use it to do squats I am more than happy to work into their sets.

    Pretty much.

Tell the guy that you need to do your squats. You don't really need to be a dick about it. It's one thing if there is no place to put a bar on the floor, or if there is only one available bar, but he should be able to deadlift it off the ground if he can curl it.

This is kind of different. Power Racks have pull-up bars to do pull-ups. Squat racks are put in gyms to allow people to do squats as it's the only effective way to do weighted squats. Both pull-ups and weighted squats need essential equipment to be performed, and it is often limited in gyms. There isn't much reason you can't do curls elsewhere.

Everyone always seems to have a problem when someone curls in the rack but nobody seems to ever care when a guy starts dead lifting in front of it for absolutely no reason. I never understood that.

Come on brah, 5x10 underhand grip, overhand grip, wide overhand grip, near underhand grip, cheat underhand curls, hammer grip with straps as loops, close hammer grip. Takes about 45mins.

All-fro Muscle&Alchemy bicep routine, get swole.

I find this weird as well since at our gym we have an are for deadlifting and these fools never use bumpers for deadlifts but sure they them for bench press.

Did you ask the guy if he minded stepping out of the rack? I have no issue with people using the rack for curls. On politely asking if they would move to let me squat, they always do.

It's the people who use it for shrugs that annoy me. They never move and then leave the loaded bar behind.

The deadlifter isn't taking up equipment for no reason- he's just close to it, that's why nobody considers it their business.

Every time I'm at the gym minding my own business working out in the curl rack, there is always this socially awkward dude standing a little bit away staring at me. Creeps me out. I'm not sure what he is doing. For awhile I thought maybe he wanted to use the curl rack to work out in as well, but he's never once come up and asked to work in. Just stands there, staring and getting seemingly more pissed off as time goes on.

Now that I think about it, I've never not curled in the squat rack. My gym only has 5-6 people in it at a time, max, and usually less when I'm there. We've got 2 squat racks and 90% of the time I'm the only one using them. I've never even seen someone wait to use a squat rack here.

Did his gym bag have "Big Dick Double Penetration" embroidered on it? Might have been OP.

If the gym is empty and no one is near the squat rack I wouldn't mind if someone was curling a set or two but to wait for someone to finish curling, and the person is not just doing one set, hes doing one set, then another then another with the worst form , just makes me angry and that anger in return makes my squats better

Try not to be so butthurt, brah, but I can understand how someone like you would be pissed to see a guy Curling more weight than you can Squat.

More like "I chose to wait 20 minutes".
The deadlifter isn't taking up equipment for no reason- he's just close to it, that's why nobody considers it their business.
It's nobody's business regardless. Everyone pays the same membership to use the equipment how they please. Granted, some people have poor gym etiquette but that comes with experience. My point was that people always get their panties in a bunch when someone curls in the squat rack but nobody cares when the guy does deadlifts in front of it (which still occupies it).

What really gets under my skin are people who purposely choose to put the dumbbells in the wrong place. The rest doesn't really bother me.
