    anyone ever try this?

trying to do a cheap upgrade for a eventual rental place seems to be good to be true for $35, granted in watching the video seems like most of the refinishing projects the devil is in the prep work. seemed to get decent reviews online

I wouldn't do it. If you want to cut costs and still have it look nice then rip out the old sinks, put down some large format tile on the counter, install some cheap vessel sinks with new faucets and call it a day. I did this in my guest bathroom since I wanted to preserve the existing vanity. Yes it will cost significantly more than your $35 solution, but will look 10x better and not cost nearly as much as putting in a stone countertop.

It was probably 100 bucks including the bags, paint, and decals. It is a 2ftx4ft frame made out of 2x4 with 1/2" plywood for the top. Home Depot sells plywood already cut to 2ft by 4ft about 15 bucks each if you don't have a way to cut the plywood.

I'm missing something here. How big were the tiles? Did you just butt them up against each other with no grout? What did you do on the front edge of the counter top?

Good questions, I should have specified.

Tiles were 12x24. Had to shave off about half an inch to fit the width of the countertop. I pretty much just butted them up to each other and filled the tiny gap with matching silicone.

Ideally, there would have been a corresponding bullnose tile, but there wasn't. So I ended up using the bullnose piece that matches the wall tile.

Everyone is doing awesome stuff so far this year! Keep it up guys. My wife and I are on hold right now as far as any remodeling is concerned. She didn't realize it takes money to do all this! Plan on doing something to cover our "patio" in the back yard. It is about 15'x8' and we are thinking of getting a permanent structure put up with stone looking pillars, shingles, the works. We spend a lot of time in the back yard and we have company over very regularly so it would get put to use.

If you have wood burning stove, I do recommend a splitter, but I always used this style...

    Hey DiY brahs,

I started my own landscaping company here this fall in my small town. Generated enough business and future projects to put money down on a new skid steer. I bought a new Kubota SSV65 today at my local dealer today. Pretty excited about it and i can't wait to move some snow with it.

I worked as a groundskeeper throughout college at a local golf course. I now work for a manufacturer of heavy equipment and skid steer attachments. It's a great fit for me, as i'm able to use a lot of the attachments that we make, for various jobs that i've picked up, now on my own skid steer. The landscaping / snow removal is just a side gig for me, but it's turned super profitable with all of the snow we've had up here.

x2 on this. When I was a kid my parents made me split wood with a maul. The day I moved out my Dad bought one of these. I guess I know my value in that house.

Spent Friday night replacing the mixing cartridge in my delta shower faucet. Everything was so stuck together it was more difficult than it should have been.

Spent Saturday running speaker wire behind the back wall and above the dropped ceiling in my basement to hang my speakers.

So a lot of effort this weekend and it barely looks like anything is different.
