How many people have died in the US outside of NY and Washington State? Where do you think resources should be allocated? You think the entire country should shut down off two states? Why isn't California death rates growing exponential? Florida? Tennessee? Pennsylvania? Colorado, Ohio, Wisconsion, Connecticut, South Carolina, Maryland, Utah, Virginia, Mississippi, Nevada, Minnesota, Arizona, Arkansas?

501 deaths outside those 2 states.
By the way, remember when you said we're only at 500 deaths nation wide? 610 now.
Michigan, Connecticut, Florida, Louisiana, Texas, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Ohio all experiencing 33% increase or more in deaths (some 50%). Granted most their numbers are low, but rates are accelerating in many states right now. California actually looks like they are controlling the situation well.Virtue is its own reward.

Yep. Almost as many as Italy
We're catching up fast too. 140 US deaths for Monday, 74 of which were not in Cali, NY, or Wash. The other states are starting to have more and more now. Our peak will probably be in about two to three weeks(rampant speculation).
...
Chalup, you'll be back to work before you know it - May 1st at the very latest. You've got money coming from the feds too so that'll help some as well.
meanwhile in Italy it looks like they may be over the hump ...

Hopefully that's their hump, and hopefully our hump comes that quickly here as well. Hopefully.

It is interesting how many people are underestimating the mortality of SARS-CoV-2 and the lasting effects without mitigation.
A large portion of the human race, and posters in this thread, never learned to connect the dots.Life is easy when you take personal responsibility

https://www.foxnews.com/us/nyc-metro...1000-birx-says
The White House's coronavirus response coordinator sounded the alarm for New Yorkers, urging them to continue to self-isolate because of the alarmingly aggressive "attack rate" of the coronavirus in the densely populated city.
Dr. Deborah Birx told reporters at the task force briefing Monday the New York City metro area has an attack rate -- which refers to the percentage of a population that has a disease in epidemiology -- of 1 in 1000.
Birx added that the attack rate in New York City is five times that of other areas in the United States and that 28 percent of lab specimens tested for COVID-19 from the city have come back positive. In comparison, positive test results have been less than 8 percent in other parts of the country, she said.
The high attack rate in New York City bears a sharp resemblance to that of Italy, which began to contain the virus towards the beginning of March despite coronavirus already circulating amongst the population for several weeks beforehand. Over 6,000 people have died in Italy from COVID-19 with nearly 64,000 cases in the country.*MFC Elder Statesmen Cabinet Crew*

It is very optimistic to think California only has 2.2K cases.
I'd love to see the amount of tests administered in CA, especially in SF & LA. SF in particular should be suffering the same fate as NY. My hunch is that NY is probably the only US state testing like crazy right now.

I work in downtown Manhattan, been WFH since last week, it’s gonna be ****ing brutal in the city. EVERYONE has been out as normal up until basically a week ago. I haven’t been out of my apartment in 8 days.
So far nobody that I know has gotten sick, hope it stays that way.If you are not willing to risk the unusual, you will have to settle for the ordinary
