Let all the FA defenders walk and load up the offense. Let Tom battle it out in shootouts.

if it was only that easy; Karras is potentially gone, Thuney is GONE, no TEs, no WRs other than Edelman... we don't have THAT much money.
we need to hit the jackpot during the draft of we will be royally screwed.
if tom leaves and his whatever new team has success while NE struggles u know BB and Kraft are going to take a ton of heat.
signing Tom for 2-3 years is not a football decision but a business decision - are u winning another SB with the current team and tom? NO but stadium will be full for the next 2-3 years.
nobody is going to pay 10 dollars a beer and 50 for parking to see a 4-12 team."Paper money is going away" - EM

imo in that video w/ edelman Tom is saying “this guy”
Maybe wishful thinking but after Edelman said “he’s coming back” Tom looked at him as to say “you really just fukking told everyone before I could myself”Follow my IG @kaseyx_music and listen to me on Spotify

Smart move by the Patriots to franchise Thuney. He was going to demand a lot of money in the off season which makes him a great trade piece...if they are planning on trading him.
Nice to see the market for Brady down to the Patriots and Buccaneers. I don't think Brady can turn around that team even with some very talented offensive players in TB.New England Patriot

RIP Pats. TFW no QB and now 2 key defensive pieces walk. I think a .500 finish is the best we can hope for next year unless we get some replacements.

I think it's a little too early to say .500 is the best we'll finish. The chances of beating teams like the Chiefs, Ravens, Titans and now the Bills are less now. Even though the Bills overpaid for Diggs, they were one good WR away from being a contender IMO.
Missing out on Hooper and Hurst was a little disappointing. I don't think the losses of KVN and Collins will be as big as we think. We have a few good options to replace them. I think Winovich will be solid this season and moving forward.
Maybe the Patriots didn't go in with Brady because Stidham is their guy. Without having to pay Brady we can use that money to bring in some big name talent...hopefully.
If Stidham can be a game manager and we can bring in good talent, we'll finish the season above .500 and most likely get a wild card spot.
I just can't believe Brady is leaving when the only two teams interested in him are the Buccaneers and Chargers. Brady is still a good QB, but I don't think those teams are good enough to be contenders by adding just Brady. Who knows.New England Patriot

Both of those players are a big parts of the team. I think keeping them makes sense from a leadership and development stand point. Bring in young players to learn from them before they go. Our offensive line was a mess last season. Keeping Thuney helps.
Yeah, I'm not sure why they couldn't come to an agreement. Wish we could find out at some point, but probably never will. Even though Brady never crippled the cap, having that extra space now does open things up to build around Stidham, or whoever the starting QB will be.
I've not heard anyone mention this, but I think Brady in Chicago would be an interesting place for him. It's really the only team that's a QB away from being a contender.New England Patriot

Can you blame him? He has two years left, max. He is in "win now" mode.
Bill has shown zero commitment to doing that. He let star weapon after star weapon go to other teams, while losing two starters on defense and signing....5'9, 180 pound Damiere Byrd, who has issues with ball security.
At best, he would be in the same boat as last season.Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.

They sign a bunch of WR each off season to try them out. Nothing new there.
Unless the Buccaneers sign a few other players, which they could with their cap space, they aren't going to win this year. Patriots, with Brady, still were contenders. Remember, even with a mediocre team, they were one win against the Dolphins week 17 from being the #2 seed and completely changing the playoff seedings.
Resign Brady and draft a WR in a super deep WR draft class and make another run.New England Patriot

in our own division: we struggle to beat bills and dolphins and those two team are getting better.
our outside of division: texas, kc, la rams, az, bal, and Seattle look pretty tough as well.
how are we going to beat those teams we are current roster?
imho: Monday night Tom see no moves and no love from the organization and figured that his time there was over - we know this would happen sooner than later but still sucks.
I am still a pats/tom fan and I HOPE BB ego can cash the check his ego wrote... this is a BB move no question about it."Paper money is going away" - EM

uhmmm u could argue the same about the bucks - a qb that doesn't throw 30int and they are right in the mix... it goes both ways.
unless Stidman is a rookie sensation I don't see how they are going to do what they did last year with him (with less pieces).
Tom plays well for 2 years and we suck for two years and we are all going to be pissed... letting him go without a real plan won't look great for BB and Kraft legacy.
Look at the Bulls for example: tons of regrets about not keeping the team together for 2 more years... when was the last time they were relevant?"Paper money is going away" - EM

No doubt going from a QB throwing 30 INTs to a QB who will take care of the ball and throw less than 10 INTs will make a big difference. He's in the NFC now though and in a tough division. You really think they have a better shot at winning the division than the Saints? Tom will hold his own, but winning 10-12 games isn't going to win you a division anymore.
I think they are high on Stidham and going to roll with him. They do need another QB though to back up Stidham or be our starter.
I know each off season this type of reaction always occurs. People don't understand / trust Bill's moves, but I have to defer to Belichick and give him the benefit of the doubt that he'll roster a serviceable team. I don't think he's "rebuilding." I think he's wanting to win now still, but doing his best with what he has.
If they can find a QB that can keep from turning the ball over a lot, the defense should still be solid. Our RBs are good, we have young, up and comers at WR and we still have all off season and the draft to fill voids. This draft class is deep with WR talent, so maybe we can snag someone and they can impact our offense right away.
My guess is we still secure a wild card spot this season, but most likely get bounced early unless the QB we start plays really well.New England Patriot

Reports are that Patriots aren't in a hurry to bring in another QB as they're pretty comfortable with Stidham and Kessler.
I didn't even think about it, but with the Colts signing Rivers, maybe they'll try and bring back Brissett. We'll have to play the Belichick waiting game again this off season.New England Patriot
