Went to the range for the first time in 6 months or so. Was rustier than expected. Had to slow down and knock the rust off and then was good to go.

Sighted in the little AR-22 I bought and then made the GF shoot it; she never wanted to since it is "big and scary," even though I repeatedly told her it shoots the same as the 22 pistol she enjoys shooting so much. Finally when I forced her to shoot it, she got her aiming down and then was shooting good and after about 25 rounds I asked her how she liked it and she had a smile, saying she really enjoyed shooting that one.


Just placed an order for an appendix-IWB holster for my B6P so I can actually carry it. Hadn't thought about it too much lately until I was walking my dog in a park yesterday morning and on top of the usual signs about alligators being prevalent, there were signs reminding me about the relatively recent problem with coyotes that has been going on in town. At that point I was like, "Man... I wouldn't mind having it on me right now, since it is just her and me on this path with nothing else to help us."

What ammo you running in the .22lr AR and is it very reliable?

I shot this test clean with carry ammo in my little Glock 26 the other day. 10 rounds at 10 yards into the black of a B8 in 6.52 seconds

Oh yeah...I got an FNS40 with 3 mags and night sights for $320 from PSA a couple weeks ago. Is that a deal or is that a steal?!

What ammo you running in the .22lr AR and is it very reliable?

Cheap Federal ammo. Just used for plinking. Would have a jam every 5-10 rounds. Eventually I got used to just pulling the charging handle and cycling it to the ground and continuing on with no cares.

I have a bunch of CCI ammo that I'll need to check and see if it requires a resighting of the rifle or not.

Yeah, I remember when you did that the other day. Very impressive. I haven't moved up to that test yet. I've practiced pulling from the holster and getting rounds off quickly - first one double action - to sort of simulate an actual pull scenario, not just "hey, look how good I can do when under perfect conditions." But have yet to feel really good enough to even bother trying to beat a timer at the moment. I'm definitely not keeping my grouping in the black yet. But I'm not having an issue, pulling and hitting center mass (plinking the steel plate silhouette), but sure they're hitting everywhere from gut shot to neck.

We had our corporate "monthly update meeting" today. The first 20 minutes was straining to listen to the president not talk loud enough / close enough to the microphone while all of the call-in users didn't mute their phones, so you'd hear random breathing and clicking as they moved around. Meeting was mostly pointless and boring. But the upside is the company paid for lunch today, which they paid for greek catering today, instead of the usual mediocre pizza. So... not a bad day at all.

Holy crap! I'm not one to try for a .40, but can't pass up that price at all.

Different gun/test than I posted last time but not much of a difference to anybody other than me (last was a G19 that was G26).

Not quite the same deal ($40 more) but they still have an FNS40 (polished stainless slide vs black) with 3 mags and night sights for $360

I'm not particularly interested in .40 either but for that price, and given the generally great supply and pricing of .40 ammo (since it is not so popular these days lol, supply/demand), I went ahead. It shoots very well, granted it's a full size, but you can see the target and info I posted there, first time shooting it.

UT automatically admits any Texan who graduated in the top 10% of her class. The remaining spots are filled using a formula that looks at academic achievement, personal achievement, and various other factors including race.

Mediocre white girl was denied admission. Despite the fact that 168 black & Latino students with test scores better than hers also got denied due to that admissions formula and despite the fact that, of the 47 people with lower test scores than hers who got provisional acceptance due to this admissions formula, 42 were white and only 5 were black or Latino, she sued UT claiming that their policy was discriminatory affirmative action and directly harmed all white people. She took this all the way to the Supreme Court, and just lost.
