you need to start a thread and call it "Food and Earth Porn"
moar chocolate...
Amedei - Chuao
Price: $13.70 CAD
Weight: 50g
So this is the 'famous' Chuao bar from Amedei. For a while Valrhona had exclusivity to Chuao beans, then Amedei, and as of a few years ago they've become a bit more available. For anyone who is interested, just google "exclusivity chuao beans" or anything along those lines and you'll see how rare/sought after they are.
Everything about this bar is pretty much perfect, right down to the packaging and portion sizes. The aroma when you first open it is a strong, plum-like scent that fills the room. It definitely has the most notable progression of flavors from any bar that I've had. It's got a deep, mellow flavor that reminds me a bit of plum and/or raisins; a dried fruitiness rather than a sharp or acidic one. It has a really smooth mouthfeel, very similar to a Valrhona bar, but without the use of soy lecithin. With a meaty cocoa that's far from bitter, it offers it's own unique taste unlike any other bar I've tried.
Hands down the best chocolate I've had, and as one of the most expensive chocolates you can get ($1.37 per 5g piece, or over $120 per pound), it's still definitely worth the price. Interesting read about one persons experience with Amedie/Chuao and how they claim it to be the best chocolate in the world: http://www.foodandwine.com/articles/...best-chocolate
I'm finishing the bar as I write this, and now I'm on the search to try Chuao bars from other companies to see how well (or if) they can compare... 10/10

My girlfriend and I decided to make a Broccoli, Quinoa, Chicken, Bacon & Cheese casserole. Turned out amazingly well; very good macros too. Recipe can be found here along with many other macro-friendly recipes. http://pinchofyum.com/
