Watched a couple foreigns
"Dream House" , I recommend, good amount of gore and cool kills. Basic plot is a chick doing whatever she can to get a flat in Hong Kong. 7.5/10
“Oldboy”, I've wanted to see this for a long time and finally got a chance, I also recommend this one, awesome kills. I loved the side scroll kill scene, looked like a badass video game. Highly entertaining, 9/10
Not excited for the Hollywood remake!

just saw grave encounters 2 and overall it's very much similar to the first except it starts off slower since the group doesn't even make it to the hospital for 15-20 min. I'd recommend it only if you enjoyed the first one.

Don't know if you guys now this but they're remaking Childs Play (one of the only horror movies, I watched as a Child, to scare me into staying up all night). Thanks Mom & Dad.
Anyways,
The Film is Directed/Written by Don Mancini who wrote the first one, and the sequels.
He says that this remake will not be a copy of the first one, there will be no comedic element, he wants to make Chucky dark, horrific, etc.
"That's really our goal with this next movie, bottom-line, was to make it scary again.
Brad Dourif will be back as the voice of Chucky.

Release date is somewhere in 2014.
Also here some news about another Chucky film that's planned to release this year.
In June 2012, it was confirmed that a fifth sequel to Child's Play will be made titled Curse of Chucky and be released direct-to-video. The movie began production in early September in Winnipeg, Canada. The film will take place after the events of Child's Play 3 meaning that Bride of Chucky and Seed of Chucky will not be canon in a new timeline for the Child's Play series. The character of Tiffany will not be returning in the film, so this will mark the return of Chucky being solo. In November 2012 Don Mancini announced that filming for Curse of Chucky had been completed and he planned to release it Halloween 2013.Stream dat der FFXIV, watch me be a noob.

thank you sir.
this post made me want to respond to two points.
1) the original twilight zone show blows my mind still. I spend much of new years and july 4th weekend watching the marathons on scyfi when I have my hangover. They are so incredibly poignant, witty, nihilistic, etc... it blows my mind, because just like I don't sympathize with non-americans in film, I am also ignorant in that I don't think people from before the 80's were able to be smart or write good stuff.
Like take for instance, Charles 'dickhead' Dickens - people say his books are the sht... I'm like.. he don't even mention cassettes, record platers, cell phones, etc.
Great Gatsby? psssh, what kinda playboy doesn't do blow and hookers? please.
but Twilight zone, despite its being behind the times, still delivers strong powerful stories... Some are truly scary (2 episodes specifically about dummies) - and some just damn poignant (dude and his dog die, dude refuses to go to heaven w/o his dog, turns out that was hell and he did the right thing)
2) as for your specific question about shows like that... two come to mind... the first being a show from either late 80's or early 90's called MONSTERS - had an awesome intro sequence and then stories very Tales from the Crypt like... played at like 11pm on WPIX when I was young
and the other is Freddy's Nightmares... I don't remember the stories being particularly strong, but Freddy did the hosting (beginning, cuts, ending) so I watched it religiously
edit - just thought of a third - Tales from the Darkside... some really fukked up episodes of that show.. and the intro itself scared the bejeejuice outta me as a kidyou should read this

My moms idea of raising me was putting on horror movies.... it worked out great! so I gotta be in on this!
All time favorites are the Friday the 13th's. A little bummed the OP left out Manhattan, better than 7 imo
Not ready for this. I originally hated the idea, Evil Dead 2 being one of my favorite movies, but its starting to look pretty damn good. I'll see it, but its gonna be hard to like it. Still havent seen the friday the 13th remake.
Some of the Leprechauns were pure gold, comedic horror or not, and Warwick Davis was great! He made that character kinda scary and funny at the same time, kind of like a Freddy Krueger.
Childs play 1-3 were awesome. Hope they do away with the cut up doll. I never liked that look. I know he was chopped to pieces in 3, but he was blown up in two and returned just fineLast edited by kevsom24; 02-28-2013 at 07:10 AM.

Bergen County NJ
Grew up with Alex and the younger Pete from Pete and Pete... we actually used to make Alex and Danny fight like once a week in the playground - just cuz they both thought they were the sht.
the others I've met are usually at horror shows - I have the gift of gab w/o being a fanboy and tend to get myself into a lot of parties w them... I always wear hawaiian shirts (bright obnoxious ones), get completely wasted, and into a lot of trouble - most of these guys are immature and love it.
I am actually not allowed near Jake Busey. Long story - but he has a monstermania version of a restraining order against me.you should read this
