Highly productive day I would say too. When your mood is better, it makes you productive and it shows with all you got done. Nice lifts!

It was a treat for sure as they tend to be pricey though there are sushi places everywhere around LA. We even have sushi at work, the only store I've been at with this company that has such (also have juice, smoothies, froyo and coffee). The guys who work there too are nice and can see them putting the rolls together right in store. Can be tempting some time but gets old quick and still can't spend 6-10$ every lunch so don't have it very often.

Get that craving. I don't give in if it's a quick or short craving but after a couple of weeks, time to find a little. I was craving pineapple for over 2 weeks and finally had some. mmm

Cheesecake isn't really my thing, which is probably good since I should limit dairy. Can be tasty treat though on the rare occasion. I'd like a good cupcake. And right on the positive attitude. Yesterday was a challenge on that but I'll post a longer bit about that and the food when I get back from the store.

    Week 1

Yesterday was a long day and at home I decided to relax instead of doing the post so I'll update now. Wasn't a bad day considering all of the factors involved that also lead to a cranky knee but with morning shift, got tired and relaxed in the evening while watching Family Guy.

    The Day

Long day with the 7 am morning shift. Usually I work my department, putting away any leftover freight then handling overstock and such. However, I got stuck cashiering in wine&spirits because the one who works over there called out. We had two on the floor who were both under-aged, so we didn't have many options for who could cover. Though it's one department where I do not much since I don't know it and even less after they did the reset on the whole department. I didn't even really stock so had some slow times where I studied instead, which the manager didn't mind since I need to get a test date done and get certified for work. That also meant I spent 8 hours not moving around as much as I prefer. My left knee wasn't a big fan and ached later. I usually don't even take my 15 minute breaks, just the required lunch, in part because deal with less pain if I'm moving around more. Have had issues with knees since jr high (back when I played sports), plus the back, elbow, hip and wrist/hand problems that started in my 20's, most of which came from bowling. Anyways, I prefer to move around if I'm going to be on my feet all shift. Plus, I've worked with the company over 4 years now so have worked hard to get away from cashiering.

That means it was a test on the mood because I'm not a fan of getting stuck cashiering and had some customers that were not all that pleasant to handle. But my mood held through fine. And didn't feel the need to consume candy as a treat for putting up with getting stuck up there.

I went to the gym after work since I had a parking spot already and wanted to get a little cardio since didn't get to spend my shift moving around doing stuff.

    Upper Accessories
    wide grip bench - 2x10 @ 45, pause 3 count 1x8 @ 55, 1x8 @ 65 and 1x5 @ 70
    hack squat calf raises - 2x25 @ 90
    tricep pushdown - 3x10 @ 70
    face pull - 2x10 @ 70
    overhead tricep extension - 2x10 @ 40
    single leg cable kickback - 2x15 @ 22.5

walked on treadmill 45 minutes at 5 incline and 3 speed and 15 minute cool down

Water: 2 single liter bottles of water (one sparkling and flavored) and a 700 ml bottle of water plus started on another liter one before falling asleep but had only about 1/4th of it.

    Food:
coffee with almond milk creamer and SizeSlim

no cow bar lemon meringue pie
less than half Synergy mystic mango kombucha

lemon poppy seed Lenny & Larry cookie
    pineapple slices

    oats
part of carnivor pre-made chocolate rtd
    couple thawed strawberries

    snickerdoodle Lenny & Larry cookie

    Overall calories: 1300
Would have had trouble getting 1000 if hadn't consumed the second cookie. Was trying to not do dairy or would have just gone with a regular protein bar so my protein was a bit on the low side yesterday. Also, had the oats more because it had been in the fridge a few days (overnight oats) plus roommate was in kitchen for a while so didn't want to go in there to make the turkey and veggies that I need to cook.

Appetite was low. Which was good since I was working though not moving around and still didn't consume much for most of the day. I didn't have the first l&l cookie until about 6 pm. Most of the day and the workout was on the coffee, no cow bar (my preferred protein bar when I can find them and on sale if possible) and the part of a bottle of kombucha, plus lots of water.

We are at the week mark too. Started this on the 3rd and now we're on the 7th. I've managed to take two pills, two times a day for a whole week, which is impressive for me. Time to talk a little about the product and where things stand at this point, keeping in mind I had to deal with hormone/water fluctuations in this first week.

    The Product

The pills are pretty much what would would expect. They don't have the most pleasant smell, as it's a supplement that's put into pill form. The shell of the pill isn't very thick but it's also not too thin either. I have also noticed a little bit of an aftertaste from them. Not horrible but not great either. It's not a deciding factor, just something I'm noticing.

    Current weight: 133.2

My wight tends to be up the first week+ of the month, just how my hormones fluctuate. Last month I was at 135-136 first half of the month even with eating in a deficit. Around 133 is a fine start and the numbers should be drifting down low. Hoping to see 129 by the end of the month.

Today is a rest day and I'm at home, which normally would be tempting to snack cause home is where I keep the food. So far I've had half a pretzel stick, which is a single serving. Normally it's hard to not eat the whole thing. I'm mildly obsessed with pretzel rolls and bread as they are so delicious. Still, keeping it under control and had the single serving with the SizeSlim capsules. I went to Dollar Tree then Target. Got some fruit snacks and a couple candies for my nostalgia full day of eating that I'm going to do this month one day. Going to have a lunchable and need to figure out the rest still. I was tempted by poptarts but didn't buy any.

Week 1 out of the month log. Things are doing well so far and we'll see how the next one goes. I'll do more measurements in the week 2 update. Looking forward to that and the lower rep range of the last few weeks of the peak cycle. Have made it to week 6 while doing well even with being in a deficit.

Great amount of detail on this day. Yeah I try to keep fruits to a minimum when I cut and limit my sweets to very rare times to keep my blood sugar low. Weight Loss Support trains you to keep yourself more accountable.

I have horrible knees as well!! No one believes me or understands because I am so young... Do you take anything to help / have any tips for dealing with the pain? I stand all day long on my job as well so its getting real crucial on my body. Some days are better than others but overall it just sucks. Haven't found anything that helps.

Cheesecake is my favorite word containing "cake" in it. I have not made one since I think November. "the ...pump(kin cheesecake)- is the cure" haha.

knee and related joint pain, personally I would go for cissus as a midterm solution, and stack it with Blue Goo and if its a real issue where I need to use it-something with acetaminophen OTC.

Things like that can start young. I have arthritis in my back that developed in my early twenties but yeah, some people find it hard to believe. Luckily, my knees aren't too bad. They don't bug me most of the time, which is good because I've worked on my feet for years. Even in the gym haven't had any problems. Occasional ache but during things like leg extension or in the past with the leg press but no issues with squats thus far. Since mine is rather minimal, I don't take anything for it. Probably should take a fish oil or some other joint supplement but I'm terrible at taking anything on a regular basis. Few more days with the WLS without missing and it'll be a record for me, lol. I limit pain relievers for when I have more pain since I also can get some pretty bad headaches. Sometimes I'll use heat, which can help as long as it's not swollen because for that you would want to use ice instead.

I like the Lenny and Larry cookies. They aren't like super amazing or all that hype worthy and they do vary on batches. Some are drier than the others, harder to eat. And I don't care all that much for like the chocolate chip ones and such that are popular, though will say microwaving the double chocolate one briefly is pretty good. I like the snickerdoodle, lemon poppy seed or pumpkin spice. They are a bit high in calorie as most of these protein cookies tend to be with over 300 for a cookie but they are a nice treat. Plus these don't use any dairy, which is helpful for me.

Yeah thats a sizeable amount of calories if Im on a cut that Id take into consideration. I have not made homemade cookies either in a long time. I have Pit Bull bars that have chocolate and caffeine but I will have one or two every other week or so. Im caffeinated as it is ...lol.

Never heard of the pit bull bars. I get plenty of caffeine in general though. While the 16-18 grams of protein are nice, it's definitely a tough treat on a cut when they are 360-400 calories.

Today did a little bit of a different approach. Ate more earlier in the day with a thickened protein shake along with the other half of the roll plus a protein bar. Then had the cheaper california roll from work and another protein bar for lunch. So got just over 1000 calories in during the day before lifting. The protein bar at lunch was delicious. Tried the Oh Yeah One bar that was maple donut flavored. Oh so good and not too bad with the calories. Had a decent day at work too, then went to the gym for squats. Decided to stick with 185 again since increasing now would lead to a struggle at the end. Going to have to adapt the end of this a little because no way I could do 237 at the "meet". I will just be happy to get 220 since 215 was my last 1 rep max.

    squat - 2x10 @ 45, 1x10 @ 95, 1x8 @ 135, with belt 1x5 @ 165 and 2x5 @ 185
    overload - 20 count @ 255
    single leg curl - 2x9 @ 40
    leg extension - 2x10 @ 70
    single leg press - 3x10 @ 30
    leg press (for fun) - 1x10 @ 180

Appetite today was fine and energy pretty even. Didn't have too many problematic customers or anything, which helped. Did have a guy talk to me outside after work who isn't quite all there. Talked about music along with marxism stuff, law review he has written and asked me to a movie. Tad awkward but he's mostly harmless. I've talked to him before at work but not sure he even remembers.

Now I need to get ready for bed. Tomorrow I'm working at 7 am, so will take a different food approach. Will be getting in caffeine mid-day since have time to waste at starbucks while waiting for my sister to get done with her internship. Need to study anyways. My test is May 1. Need to focus for sure.

I noticed you said you have a decrease in appetite, is that usual for you when dieting. WLS may help in this area as well.

Not always when dieting cause low calorie sucks. I ate in a deficit for over a year roughly when I lost the majority of the excess weight as I used to weigh over 200. Some times had issue with hunger but others weren't bad at all. It just varied. I'm tracking the decreased appetite for this month since it's part of the WLS claims so it's important for the log.

Overall, not a bad done. Nothing spectacular but still things are going pretty well. Mood was even despite having to get up early for work, pesky 7 am shift. Only nuisance came from not having my phone with me all day. After work had time for gym then studying/reading over in Starbucks while waiting for my ride home. Had the WLS with a cold brew while at Starbucks. Slight nausea but I get that in general so nothing out of the ordinary for me. Have a cold brew to bring with me tomorrow as have the other store, so hour drive then 9 am shift. Gym went fine with bench being the focus along with a little cardio to use up some time.

    The workout:
band pull apart - 3x15 with yellow band (need to get the medium one out)
    bench - 2x10 @ 45, 1x8 @ 75, 2x5 @ 100
    closed grip bench - 1x8 @ 45, 1x8 @ 65 and 2x4 @ 85
    incline bench - 1x8 @ 45, 2x5 @ 70
    rotary calf - 2x20 @ 172
35 minutes on treadmill at 5 incline and 3 speed and 5 minute cool down decreasing incline

The closed grip were supposed to be 5 reps but the last ones were terrible. Almost couldn't push up on them and elbows were all over the place, so counting 4 instead of 5, Probably won't increase on those and yeah, no way could I have done them paused at this weight. Glad I switched it to paused wide grip.

Getting to the harder part of the program, in particular with being in a cut as the reps decrease but the weight gets near my maxes. Will stand more of a chance to fail and will have to adjust some numbers but hopefully will still see progress and at a lighter weight. ;-)

Awesome work at near maxes, are you adding cardio to every routine? For me, I am noticing metabolism go up the longer I use WLS. It is subtle but along with mood with continued use those two aspects get more noticeable. At times I get higher motivation (mood) and music sounds better etc.

The combination is helpful and there is the mind aspect to lifting. Metal state certainly can affect results of a session. I don't add cardio to every routine. Mostly doing it right now to use up time (and for the cardiovascular health benefits). Like today, I get off work at 5:30 pm but my sister's internship doesn't end until 7 then she has to drive over to get me, which takes about 30 minutes pending traffic. Since we just have my car, that tends to mean a wait for me on these days and none of the lifting sessions take 2 hours, especially tonight as it's "shoulders". So, I'll do some lifting, maybe I'll even do abs, then get to spend a little time in sauna but still have time so I'll be on the treadmill for a while. A couple of the days are my days off work and if I don't move around much, I might add a little cardio if I feel like it but other work days, I can at times get 10,000 steps by lunch since I am on my feet all shift. Not really doing it for the calories but I don't spending a little time on the treadmill, at least when I don't forget to charge my Ipod.

Thanks. It's a challenge but still pushing through in the program. Still will be glad when deadlifts are 3 reps instead of 5 or more. Squats too. Now the challenge will be can I increase my max even by 5 lbs while on this cut. And will the gym have 2.5 plates in time for the deadlift/squat attempts. We'll see.

Last night was a bit of a struggle in falling asleep. Went to bed at first just after 10 but couldn't sleep. Dozed off a tiny bit around 1 listening to Family Guy on the couch then went back to bed. Woke up several times before getting up before alarm was set even. Tad tired throughout the day but overall, energy was pretty good considering that.
Had a delicious lunch: tacos from a food truck that always parks nearby and a cup of fruit from a fruit stand with spicy seasoning on it. mmm We stopped at grocery outlet on the way home so I got a quick frozen meal, smart ones, that was like 2 chicken strips and a hand full of fries. Also had brussel's sprouts with that and a muscletech protein cook for dessert. 1400 calories roughly for today so that's a good range to be in and a little better than the slightly too low day I had yesterday.

    The Workout: Shoulders
    ohp - 2x10 @ 45 and 1x6 @ 65, push press 1x2 @ 65 and 2x6 @ 75
    side lateral raise - 2x10 @ 12.5
    front db raise - 2x10 @ 12.5
    bent over raise - 2x10 @ 10
    leg raise - 2x10 @ bw
    dry sauna for 15 minutes
60 minutes on treadmill, almost all at 4 incline and 3 speed while reading ptce prep book

So much studying to do still but am tired. Hope to go to bed soon.

Do you find WLS help at all in the studying? If the dose is close enough it may have an effect possibly. Also the cardio to 60min is looking really solid, keep up the great work!

I haven't noted any yet but I don't often study close enough to determine the factor. However, I have 2 weeks from Monday until the exam, so there will be an increased focus on studying every single day. Seems a bit helpful so far though. I have never really been one to read on the treadmill, I prefer just to listen to music or watch food network is possible (best way to get through long steady state cardio is food network) but was able to focus on the book while walking today. The hard part with some of this it's just trying to memorize. Have to learn 200 drugs by brand and generic name. That's proving the most challenging for me as math isn't a big deal and some things like inventory I've dealt with at work already. Only other difficult factor is the sheer volume of information since I only work retail but the test will be over all pharmacy, including hospital.

I'll try to make more note when I study closer to WLS. Saturday I will probably write and review stories after the morning one but later in day, I'll study after the other dose, for example. Just one more thing to consider and a nice bonus aside from the appetite suppressing, though that does seem to go well and at times I have to make sure I eat enough in the day instead over worrying about getting too much.

Today I am near work 4 hours before my shift so I spent an hour on the treadmill at the gym and now I'm at starbucks with a delicious sweet cream cold brew, carrot sticks I brought from home and some avocado spread. mmm Will do some computer stuff while I have the battery (no outlets available for charging at the coffee places in this area) then will study more.

BW update: scale is back to showing 132, so going in the right direction and should be seeing lower numbers for the second half of the month since that's when I seem to see progress. Will take measurements soon though and might do a mid-month video. Have a few youtube things to work on too.

Yesterday was a bit of a meh day. Going to Panera for a writing group was fine but didn't stay too long as didn't feel like getting out power chord for my laptop, so only got a little writing done. Didn't go to gym as sister had the car most of the afternoon and all evening plus I was being lazy at home. Had a bit of a headache most of the day too and tried to sleep but couldn't really. Wasn't hungry but ended up having too many candies, mostly Reese's and ended up with a bit of indigestion from it. Did have a nice two hours of lying on the couch cuddling with the cat while watching Family Guy, which helped some.

The mental part of dieting is as much of a challenge as things like appetite control. Also, have had a couple days where wasn't getting enough calories so need to work on that balance. Don't want many days like this with too many calories but also need to eat above my bmr too. Still a work in progress even when I'm about half way through my cut.

Woke up today and tried to stay in bed super long but got bored so was up at 9:30 (late but still was trying for closer to 10) and ended up going to the gym. Figured would put those extra calories from yesterday to good use at least and get those deadlifts done. Plus, I like deadlifts.

    deadlift - 1x10 @ 115, 1x10 @ 135, 1x6 @ 185, belt 1x5 @ 205, belt+chalk 1x5 @ 235
    sdl on 35 plate - 2x8 @ 155
    yates rows on 35 plate - 2x8 @ 95
    clean - 1x8 @ 45, 1x8 @ 65, 1x1 then failed attempts at 75 and 1x8 @ 65
    one arm db row - 1x10 @ 40

The deadlifts were okay. Wasn't sure as last time did 8 reps at 185 and it didn't feel quite there this time, but still managed the 235 instead of 225 for 5 reps. Next week get to move to 3 reps instead of 5, woot. The rows were a bit challenging this week and obviously cleans didn't go so well but eh, that's okay. db row was fine.

Now I'm all done and ready for work since I have the 3-11pm shift. Will go early so sister can do an audience work thing, which means I'll spend over an hour in Starbucks with laptop and doing a little studying.

Deadlifts look good. Best part of a weekend is getting that fulfillment. Have a good one!!

Thanks. It was a decent weekend even with work.

Thank you. I'm feeling pretty decent so far. Not that much of an energy change. I'm not a very energetic person in general so it would take a lot to get high spikes of energy. I'm getting through the workouts even on lower calorie days and seeing many low energy, so that's a plus.

An okay day off overall. Had a few candies, again, but not an overly amount. Still a little closer to maintenance than want on this cut. Still, going to have to control a little more with the easter candy. It also has given me a little indigestion so going to avoid the pb ones for a few days anyways. Also, have salad stuff for lunches and some veggies. Have work for the next 4 days, so will stay occupied plus videos to make for youtube.

Went to gym mid-day for upper body accessories. It was okay. Not too busy or anything. Did have some guy try to compliment me on the weights lifted for the cable tricep pushdown but ended up sticking his foot in his mouth by going too far into the whole, you should try higher weight and more reps to get rid of the unwanted stuff (meaning fluff... yeah). I know he meant well at least and was just a slight distraction during the workout as not many people ever really chat with me while lifting.

    wide grip pause bench - 2x10 @ 45, 1x8 @ 65 and 2x5 @ 75
    tricep push down with bar - 3x10 @ 80
    overhead tricep extension - 2x10 @ 40
    seated preacher curl - 1x10 @ bar, 2x10 @ bar+10 (tried 10's instead of the 5's but no go)
walk on treadmill for 40 minutes at 5 incline and 3 speed and 5 minute cool down

Enjoyed vegetables for dinner and now have to get busy with judging for an official site contest along with getting things ready for work tomorrow.

Oh and before I forget, I tried out the SizeSlim recovery sample after working out. It's cucumber lime flavored, which is definitely different. It is sweetened by stevia and the end result is not very sweet. Does have a bit of the flavor from both the cucumber and the lime and neither really stands out over the other.

Not sure how I feel about it overall though. Some moments I liked it more than others. Will have to try again and maybe start drinking it part way through the workout next time. First will be trying the pre-workout Wednesday morning before squats.

Lol I can't stand when people try to talk to me at the gym! I like to get in and get out and not be bothered!

Thanks for the input with the cucumber lime aminos! I still have yet to try them, the flavor seems definitely interesting to me as well. I have never tried any sort of flavor similar to it. With that being said, I can't wait to give them a try.
