My friend is finishing her degree this year and planning to move to SoCal. Most major hospitals offered skype interviews and what not and just requested a few "well known" references. Took her less than 6 months to get her visa and all the needed papers. Hopefully the professional exam isnt as bad as it is over here (about 50% fail ratio, 700$ cost, maximum of 3 attempts, its like a goddamn powerlifting meet). I going to SoCal for 2 weeks in september, will be a good time to make up my mind. Wont mind the taxes, its still a lot less than over here in Quebec.
also wtf is up with all this 4x6-8 **** at 70%
Even tho i can probably rep 10-15 at 70%, 6x6@70% kills me, cant imagine going up to 80% lol

Smolov final week is crazy like that. Even with a max of 600 you end up doing 7x5x85% on the 3rd week, with 10 squat workouts in the tank in the previous 17 days. 85% is something i can hit for 5-6 reps ONCE in a workout, not 7 times in a row. It's even crazier for someone with a lower squat, but then again most that run it the first time are usually under trained to the point that they are actually stronger by the 2nd week.

Not sure. I ordered the blue ones from Bell, but they came in a bit too large for me, so I'd order a size down if you go that route. I'm lazy and haven't returned them.
FWIW, I also sorted out my problem by upping back volume to 3x pressing volume for a time to sort things out. Lots of facepulls, YTWLs, band pull aparts, rear delt work, external rotations, seated cable rows, etc. I noticed incredible improvement within the first couple days.
Imo, putting a compression cuff on things is just masking the problem, really. It's eventually going to come back and be significantly worse. Or the overuse injury might turn into a tear (shredded bicep tendon, supraspinatus tendon, etc).

My girl did the Women's Pro-Am meet this weekend. I ended up getting pictures with Larry Pacifico and Louie Simmons. I got to train with Gracie V and Jimmie Pacifico. Saw Jeanine Whittaker break the women's 181 WR squat with a 540 attempt. But, most importantly...

sup fam. Had a push pull yesterday. Bench warm ups felt awesome. Opened at 365 and smoked it. Took too big of a jump to 400 and missed twice. Waited like 5 hours to dl. Just wanted to nap by the time I had to pull. Opened at 565, took 620 on my second, and missed 640 at lockout. My thumb just couldn't handle the hook grip and tore. Won best dl and 150 bucks, so I can't complain too much.
