Herbert is gonna get OROTY by default cause of Burrows injury.
I feel like Chase Young still has enough hype behind him to win, even if the numbers aren't there. There hasn't been a standout defensive rookie either. Winfield may be the second place finisherKeep mod discussions out of your sig line

Herbert is going to be hard to beat especially if he matches his current production. Burrow probably would have won if he didn’t get injured. Jefferson has been the most impressive IMO but a QB will always get it comes down to it.
No clue about the defensive side. Javon Kinlaw is starting to put it altogether but it would be too hard for a DT to get it as they typically don’t put together a lot of stats. He also got off to a slow start.
What about the Gladney kid? I thought I heard he was doing good.LOL @ people who follow politics

Good point, not fukn srs
“Herbert’s historic season is far from done. The Chargers (3-7) have six games remaining and Herbert is on a pace to set NFL all-time single-season records for a rookie quarterback. He has a chance to set NFL all-time single-season rookie records for completions, passing yards and touchdown passes.”

jefferson is on pace for the 3rd most rookie receiving yards of all time, ahead of moss and behind boldin and bill groman in 1960.
he's also having one of the most efficient receiving seasons of all time. he's 4th all time in yards per target in a season, not just among rookies.
herbert has been amazing for a rookie but he's not among the best QBs in the league yet. jefferson is among the best receivers in the league for his play this season.

Your argument is that Rookie who's the third best in history is more deserving than a rookie who's going to break historic records? Strong logic there breh.
Using the rest of the field isn't a good metric, QB is currently stacked at tier 1 and then nosedives. Herbert is putting together a potentially better season than Andrew Luck's rookie year which is phenomenal.***Mariah Carey is my 10/10 Crew***

it's apples to oranges as a comparison for QB vs. WR rookies.
there have only been 19 rookie QBs to start 16 games in their rookie year, and herbert is just the 79th rookie QB to get 10 starts, and that's since 1950.
and not only that but QB usage for rookies has completely changed in the last decade. of the 22 rookie QB seasons throwing for 3,000+ passing yards (which Herbert just went over last game), 18 of them have been since 2010. the only ones that weren't were:
2008 matt ryan (11th)
1998 peyton manning (5th)
1986 jim kelly (9th)
1984 warren moon (14th)
rookie QB stats aren't competing against NFL history as much as it is competing against recent rookie QBs.
for receivers there's no real way to figure it out by starts, but since targets became a thing, 55+ targets is usually around what the 64th receiver in the league gets (simulation of a starting WR on the 32 teams). 181 rookie receivers have hit that target mark since targets started being recorded in 1992, and 232 players overall have hit that target mark. 299 rookie WRs have hit 30 receptions since 1950, which is a rough estimation of the low-end of catches a starting WR would get, although underselling it due to less teams and games in earlier NFL history.
the seasons played for the current top 10 in rookie receiving yards are:
1960
2003
1998
2014
1952
2004
2016
1996
1986
1954
all over the map.Last edited by Madvillainy; 12-01-2020 at 10:46 AM.

Congrats to your hero for finally tying Jameis in MNF wins.
Or how about let’s talk about how you bandwagon a different team every season?
You need a father figure in your life. And some more hair on your head you balding *******All it takes is Mookie Betts, Steph Curry, and Joe Burrow all sitting in the same car in order for one drunk driver to make the world a significantly better place.
