Exactly. And even then.. he isnt competing. Being lean and having a decent amount of muscle mass automatically puts you in the 90th percentile compared to the masses.

OP, this guy has zero shoulder width, no traps and zero lat width. He just got leaner and probably lost muscle. He had less of a U taper in the first pic. If he actually bulked, he'd look way better.

As far as your thesis goes about genetics, actually we're currently in an age where people are SO lazy mentally/physically and spiritually, that just with some effort you can stand out. Then if you repeat that effort for years on end and you work SMART instead of just hard, you can achieve things which completely dummy the gen pop mongos.

I think I have a somewhat wide pelvis like the guy in the pic (probably not as pronounced). You keep raging at people telling them a V-taper is impossible, but wouldn't he get the V-taper effect by building up his lats and shoulders? Even if he would always have a smaller outward bulge at the hips, he'd still be much more aesthetic if the chest/back appeared wider.

The reason his hips appear that way is because he is lacking adequate obliques.

Squatting and deadlifting would help fix this.
