Guys, I must say, Byredo Slow Dance has knocked my socks off. I only got it a few days ago but I'm wearing it again today for the 3rd consecutive day and it's absolutely amazing. It's the Prada Lhomme of the Byredo lineup - it's easy breezy smelling, light powdery sweet vanilla with just a hint of spicy woods (maybe cinnamon or cardamom?) in the background to tip the scales in the masculine category. Some of Byredo's stuff is so out there, but this, thiiiiiis........ absolutely mesmerizing. No one note outshines the others, everything is blended perfectly. It's neither too powdery or too vanilla.

Slow Dance could easily be someone's signature scent from October - April, it's so user friendly. Performance is way above average too.

Straight up fragrance porn with that throwback Chanel. I've never tried the new Cuir de Russie by Chanel. Only the old vintage and it was pretty bad. I imagine this newer one would be more to my liking.

Performance on Slow Dance is baller. For being such a light powdery vanilla scent I'm getting all day scent trails from 3-4 sprays from the sample atomizer. 8+ hours without a problem. This might replace Gypsy Water as my #1 from the house.

Citrus top notes faded out decades ago, but the genuine oakmoss and the cardamom are still strong and rich, aged to perfection. I don't even want to think about what outlawed toxic and cancer causing ingredients are still lurking in there since the 60's!

Yo fellas! Just popping in because I've gotten into fragrances a *little* here and there and I've posted some. Frankly I'm not much into fragrances. Shoes are my vices lol but I recently bought some Creed Aventus from Papillo for a great deal. Right now I use Tom Ford Extreme Noir in the Fall/Winter and love it for evenings in those seasons but I needed something more versatile and I was ruminating on Aventus for a while alongside other Creed fragrances like Green Irish Tweed and Millesime Imperial. Anyways Pap gave me some decants of other fragrances and I wanted to give my thoughts on them.


Jubilation for Men Amouage - This is characterized as a sweet oriental scent. It's very fruity to me and Fragrantica noted it as having a basalmic scent to it. I just can't get over that top notes on it! I don't think I could wear it personally.

Creed Viking - A very clean, fresh smell. Maybe a bit "green" smell as people say. I frankly like this more than Green Irish Tweed which people say has a fresh/green smell. When it settles into your skin more citrusy/spicy scent to it. It seems to be versatile if you want a go-to fresh scent. Probably one of the safer fragrances I smelled.

Millesime Imperial - A very fresh smell. Definitely would be great for warmer climates. It has some citrusy/salty notes to me. I'd love to try this out in summer weather.

Creed Royal Oud - First few minutes of it on you you get a very woody scent. It initially reminded me of Tom Ford Oud Wood but not as woody, and that's a good thing. When the scent settles in more you get a faint hint of powder to it. I may wear it tomorrow to see how I like it for a day.

Creed Virgin Island Water - Coconut/Citrus. It's an interesting smell but it sort of reminds me of the loud shirt or accessory you bust out every now and then. Probably not for me unless but maybe I'd get it for one of my friends that lives in Miami or something lol.

Tom Ford Neroli Portofino - At first application it smells floral/powdery to me. This and Jubilation are probably the more unisex of the fragrances I tried which there are some I like. I think my girlfriend could wear this one better than me since the notes are more floral and powdery.

Those are my thoughts!

BTW the Aventus today lasted about 9 hours. I put two sprays on me and thought I put too little on. Later in the day it smelled really good. When it breaks down on me it gets to be more of a woody scent and it actually projects far better than I expected in the cold. Hope this helps someone else and thanks to my man Papillo!

Yo nice writeup bro, and appreciated. I haven't smelled most of the fragrances on that list. I only have a clone of Aventus to use more casually. Because it is so versatile and well liked, the train has caught on and it feels like anyone who starts getting into fragrance does a quick Google, sees the hype of Aventus and just gets it or a clone. I wore my clone recently and after like 7 hours of application the girl from my coffee shop asked me if I was wearing Aventus from 6 feet away. She bought it for her ex bf after she smelled it on another dude. For one, I was glad someone noticed my smell liked it and thought it was the original... But I mostly felt a little bad that this coffee shop girl in a 3rd world country in the middle of the Caribbean had been so used to my scent that she instantly recognized it and called me out. To me that's acceptable if it was a burner fragrance but if i spend $300 on a bottle of something for special occasions I wanna smell more unique for sure.

Virgin Island Water is beautiful to me. It's one of the top freshies I own and that lime note definitely grabs attention. Smells more "niche" to me and fits the weather/Caribbean life perfectly. I have only a clone of GIT as the scent profile is too similar to Davidoff's Cool Water for me to buy a full bottle of the original. Similar story to Aventus I guess, except worse. I will eventually test out Millesime.

I think this Prada L’homme deserves its own post today. I've had this for 2 years plus and even today I'm just reminded of soft, elegant luxury. I would not rebuy quite a few of my designers but I'd definitely rebuy this one. It is amazing. But not mindblowingly so. Let me try to explain why lol.

Since I'm in a low cal diet, last night I was feeling miserable, dug in the fridge and found some ice cream my mom had bought. The packaging looked absolute poverty and didn't even write the flavor on the box but I thought this must be one of those small home made ice cream shops. Usually a good home made ice cream is top tier. But not this brand. Don't know if yall have this flavor, the fruit is probably known by a different name but it's delicious and has this creamy tangy after taste. This brand make their ice cream with that flavor and it felt like that tangy kick was extremely dull and muted. I wanted the after taste that went in that direction but it never happened. So poverty, I was disappoint.

Back to Prada L’homme. Beautiful scent but I feel like it's lacking a backbone of something to break up all the extreme pleasantries. I made this observation when I tried Reflection Man. It's not quite as powdery or effervescent as the Prada, so if that's what you enjoy, stick to L’homme. What Reflection has is a slightly sharp floral and sandalwood combo that leaves a satisfying scent in my nose when I'm finished inhaling.

That's the reason I brought up the ice cream analogy LUL, I want a nice after taste to the end of every spoon much like I want that something special in the "after smell" of every sniff. Lmao.

Wearing Royal Oud today to try it out. It's a great fragrance. Woody, powdery, and a masculine smell. If I didn't already have a Fall/Winter smell in Tom Ford Noir Extreme I'd cop this. I will say though it isn't as 'sexy' as Noir Extreme but I mean that's why there's hundreds of fragrances on the market!

Yea Noir Extreme has that rose and jasmine that would lead me to pick it over royal oud if trying to catgorize it as "sexy." I think Royal Oud is a lot more formal than Noir Extreme.
