What we have worked out that guys who want to get married have not, is that women get bored of ANY man after about 3 years. Below is an exact list of events that will be your life if you get married. Write them down.

- Kids
- Sex Stops
- Wife stop working
- You pay 100% of bills
- You complain about no sex
- Wife says ever since kids, she doesn't feel like it
- You cheat, OR she cheats

2. If you own a home, get a quick claim deed OR;
3. Make sure in the prenup it says she is not entitled to your home
4. Be aware that any business you start while married to her is automatically 50% hers in the event of divorce
5. Be aware that in 90% of divorces, custody of children goes to mother.
6. Check if you are in an alimony State. In California, marriages over 10 years result in LIFETIME alimony + child support
(around 60% of your income)

Maybe wait it out a little longer brah, the mentality of women these days is completely different to that of the last generation. They know what they can get away with.

After being in a relationship with my girl for a while now I finally am ready to pop the question. I just picked up the ring the other day and now trying to decide when/how I will ask her. Before anything I want to talk with her parents to get there approval which is no biggie since her parents and my parents already been saying they want grandchildren.

Congrats OP. Getting married is the best thing I ever did. My best advice is get on a good financial plan as soon as you are engaged.
Money is the number one cause of divorce and if you work on doing that well together you will be ahead of the curve. I strongly suggest taking the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace class together.

If Mike Davies gives you any advice you should probably do the opposite. Cohabitation for example leads to higher percentages of divorce than not. I'm sure you already figured that one out though.

When I got engaged, all sorts of guys who had been married for a while told me not to do it. I brushed them off, cause that's ridiculous.

I'm now that guy. Whenever I hear a guy is getting married, I tell him not to do it. That's not to say I hate being married. I love my wife. It's just that it's unneccessary to tie yourself to a person legally.

What's wrong with just living together for the next 20 years? What exactly do you gain from being married that you don't from cohabitation?
