If you look back at the BCS era, they got it right every single year. Only exception may have been leaving out an undefeated Auburn in 04, but that is really just a hindsight evaluation because there was no reason at the time to think So Cal and OU weren’t the two best teams. Now fast forward to the playoff era and there has been controversy almost every year.



I think A&M probably had a better case than ND but I don’t really have any desire to watch an A&M rematch as a playoff game. It would’ve been interesting to see Cincy get in, but honestly they don’t really have a good argument. So we get to watch Bama cud stomp the Irish again and hope that the officials make up for fukking over Ohio State last year and help them pull off the upset. Would be hilarious.

That’s because the differential between the top 2 teams and #3 (which is what the BCS was looking for) is usually greater than the difference between #4 and #5.

All these past years of Clemson/Bama... we knew they were the top 2. It played out and proved it. Whoever was #5 those years, they weren’t winning the national championship if somehow they were picked by the committee to replace whoever #4 was in each respective year. The only exceptions are maybe a team that loses at the wrong time (late as opposed to early). But so far, I think the playoff has been successful in finding who the #1 team in the country is.

He has a valid complaint. If the playoff is about getting the best teams in then record doesn't really matter and OSU deserved in. If record does matter then you have to take into account OSU only played half the games of other teams. It's not all their fault but it still needs to be considered

The big picture is that its 2020 and the committee wasn’t going to punish Ohio State for something that was not their fault. Putting them at 11 is just him being a bitch. Its ok though. He can continue to disprepect and look past Ohio State to Alabama while the Buckeyes are still pissed off about last year. He is just adding fuel to the fire. This game isn’t going to be the blow out that the haters think it is.

Next year is gonna be the same chit with cancellations due to virus outbreak and scheduling issues so this is setting a precedent. I bet the Big10 and Pac12 still only play conference games while other conferences play a regular schedule. If Fields is healthy it should be a close game.

Since the Big 10 changed their rules on the fly, NCAA or Playoff committee should have required ND to play Cincy, and Oh state to play the Aggies as play- in games.
