The Switch dominated in the west, selling more than every other console combined in the UK last year, and it's completely dominated the east, accounting for 87% of Japan's console market last year. Nintendo's incredible figure of 6 million Switch's sold absolutely destroyed Sony's pathetic 500,000 PS4 sales, as well as their dismal 250,000 sales for the disappointing PS5, which is noted to be a real embarrassment for Sony. Nintendo is without a doubt on top.

Yeah it's definitely THE console, the only one that truly makes a case for offering something great that you can't find elsewhere. Microsoft has made Windows 10 a part of their Xbox and Game Pass environment, and Playstation has only stood out for story driven cinematic character action games. Nintendo offers easy portability and Nintendo games.

Nintendo has some solid games coming but I hope they step it up in terms of release dates and new game announcements.
They're starting to enter a slight dry spell in terms of major games imo, especially since BOTW 2 hasn no new information and Metroid 4 was delayed. 2021 needs a couple big hitters and outlook for 2022-2023 rather than Nintendo coasting on their current successful lineup.
A main series Poké hopefully comes this year, better quality than SwSh and Diamond/Pearl remakes.

They had a slow 2020, agreed. And we know hardly anything about this year. Hopefully it'l fill out soon. We didn't know about Paper Mario or Age of Calamity until they were about to be released.
I'm expecting Pokemon D/P remakes this year, too soon for a new generation.-Engineering Crew

I have not played Age of Calamity yet.
Paper Mario actually surprised me a ton. I loved the writing, environments, soundtrack, and gameplay outside of the battle system against regular enemies. But I did really enjoy the boss battles. Through "World 1" I was not a fan, but I'm glad I stuck with it.
Of course my hope is still for a return to the style of the first two though.-Engineering Crew

I actually love my Wii U and didn't get the Switch because I could play BOTW and Mario Kart on the Wii U and games weren't backwards compatible which bothered me. Really the only game I really want to play on Switch is Odyssey but I figure I'll either wait until the next console or until Switch drops in price. I think Wii U is badly underrated. There are some legit awesome games for it.

Oh nice that you ended up enjoying i.t. It does look a bit fun but I haven't played since Sticker Star since the story was thrown out. And the bosses were damn stationary items lmao. I play Paper Mario TTYD almost every year tbh. Still holding out optimism that the next Paper Mario or Mario & Luigi will feature a stronger story.
Also, a series I think Nintendo should bring back Mario Strikers. Man that game was intense playing with friends or online. Sports Mix is alright but Strikers would be a great addition to Nintendo's online roster and they were unique games overall.
