Phil seems like a place holder to me

This may get me a lot of negs if there's any Tom Brady fans here ro whoever fans....but Phil reminds me of of the early 2000s New England Patriots. They appeared DOMINANT, but it was at a time when there was only solid competition, not legendary competition. Playing against Carolina Panthers and D McNabb...not Joe Montana or the Steel Curtain of the 70s.

Phil is competing against Kai Greene....not Jay or Ronnie in their primes....not yates, haney, etc, etc, etc. This is not to belittle the pros out there now but Phil only appears dominant, I think, because there is nobody of legendary calibre competing against him

Phil may not be competing with "legendary" pros, but he himself is already legendary. And if we consider shawn kev nasser and levrone as legendary, kai will probably also be considered so, by a future or even present generation.

i dont agree. I hate his gut and I dont think he's aesthetic. Not big enough to be a mass monster but not aesthetic enough to be beautiful. this is just how i feel although im sure you disagree

I agree that for the olympia he really got his gut under control, and i highly commend him for that. I'm not sure how long he'll keep that up for tho

It was not for the olympia...it was since he left oscar and started with farah, long ago. His distended gut days are over, even during the offseason.tAlking of kai as having a gut is like talking of phil as having a weak back. Past weaknesses.

Jay and Ronnie had a lot more years of experience before their primes. Phil and Kai are relatively new to the sport by comparison to the latter. Their successes have come much quicker. So the comparison of the two rivalries is a little different.

lol, this. Kai's look at this past Olympia cements his status as legendary, imo. And the mere fact that Phil beat him (granted it was a close contest), makes him legendary as well (not to mention that he came from *basketball* and reached the very pinnacle of bodybuilding within just a few years!)
