I just replaced my GD-ROM with an emulator and can play some atomiswave games on my dreamcast.
Was playing Metal Slug 6 on it.
looks like dolphin blue also has been converted.

yea not all games run perfectly but I can play old games without having to to buy old consoles and games

the website for the emulator only has like 5% perfect.

I just tried a game labeled playable on xbox emulator. It's playable but there was frame drops when a lot of enemies spawn on the level

I built a mini arcade that ran MAME, Atari, and NES emulators. It was a pretty fun project. I ended up giving it to my friend's kid when I moved.

I really want to find a good sega CD emulator for PC or even better, android.

Had one once then one day it didnt work anymore.

@OP: I've got my Pi4 with NES up through a few PS1 games. I generally use a ps3 controller for ease but I've found that it doesn't work well with most Genesis games. Emulation isn't perfect, but it's a nice way to play some of those older games that you've likely lost or sold by now.

I'd recommend hitting up the Shining Force series on Genesis. Really any JRPGs run great via emulation.

Recently had my PS2 modded with a hard drive with OPL loaded on there, beat DragonQuest 8 and randomly started playing old school God of War just to dick around.

I picked up an 8bitdo genesis bt controller for my tablet.
that controller works pretty good for the snes stuff.

if i really want to get into a game i have mini consoles with pi's in them set to 240p and a CRT.
i use usb versions of the controllers.

If you got a PS1 mini you gotta get a crack USB drive for it, they even sell them on Amazon. Totally transforms it, makes it so you can play loads of games you couldn't otherwise.

I have project eris installed on a laptop SSD hooked up with an OTG cable.
the controllers that came with it aren't horrible but they definitely don't feel like originals but i deal with them.

however if using retroarch for emulation instead of the built in emulator a genuine ps controller and a ps to usb adaptor should work.

back in the day I remember playing a lot of games on Project 64 and VisualBoyAdvance. I tried to play Chrono Cross on RetroArch with the PS1 software the the graphics just looked like extreme chit. Tried to play around with a few settings until I was like phuck this I give up. PCSX2 was good as well as PPSSPP. I also used to have some Nintendo DS emulator.

KOTOR 1 and 2 were some solid games, but I think it's also a PC game. Remember originally playing it on Xbox. Also Prince of Persia Sands of Time and Ninja Gaiden

Have you tried Jet Set Radio Future? Old Xbox title I used to play as a child.

Currently enjoying the older fire emblem titles for GBA on my phone.

Emulators are a great way to preserve and improve gaming of the past.

Haven't kept up with the scene, but I remember PCSX2 & RPCS3 being beasts of emulators. I'm glad to see Xbox emulator doing well bcuz of all the great titles people will now be able to play.

In the middle of trying to get Demon's Souls to run smoothly on RPCS3. I have it running at 4k and 60fps but in fullscreen I get some tearing. In windowed mode it runs perfectly. I tried using a borderless window gaming program but that doesn't seem to have resolved the issue either.

I've tried messing with the vsync settings both in Nvidia control panel and within rpcs3 and haven't had any luck but I'll take a look at these links. Thanks man!

Borderless gaming seems to resolve the issue shortly but the tearing starts shortly after.

Edit: Lol just realized I have those exact 2 pages open already.

Ps3 plays more than you think it does if you have the CPU for it
Ninja Gaiden series
Hard Corps Uprising
Red Dead 1

Switch plays a lot of AAA and a lot of AA literally perfectly if you have the CPU for it.

Games are super easy to find once you know their file extensions.

Many Nintendo games and lots of indies run flawlessly

CEMU is the place to run Breath of the Wild at 4k at 60fps with other mods.

If you ever wanted to play Metroid Prime series with keyboard and mouse PrimeHack is a custom version of the Dolphin emulator that rewrites and intercepts keyboard and mouse actions and translates them to those games as you'd expect with full keyboard and mouse support.

Tons of things that a few years ago would be unbelievable are working great now. There's still a ton of unsupported games but even stuff like MGS4 works great if you have the hardware and search far and wide for working settings.

What's your good CPU lol, I'm only asking because I never looked up more demanding PC emulators. My 9700k is sitting at 5Ghz stable, last thing I tried was Mariokart8 on Cemu and it ran flawlessly once all of the shaders loaded.

yeah psone does not look good on anything but a low res screen without some post processing.
i have the psone mini and sony did something to make the games look better on an hdtv.

though my main steam/emulation screen for the kids and i to couch on is purposefully 720p so emulators didn't have to scale too much and pc games didn't need as much horsepower to play smoothly.

Just put HENkaku on my PS Vita. Tested the mGBA emulator on Vita which can use a little work as there's a audio cracking/pop issue sometimes. Other than that, performance is solid. Gonna try PSP emulation on it when I get more storage.

Have not kept up with the world of emulation. Wonder how PS3 emulation has improved.
