ITT: we own sh*tty cars because it's a horrible investment.
I woke up this morning still breathing. Might as well take advantage of it.
Working every day to be just a little stronger, healthier, or smarter than yesterday.

I love my 2004 corolla. Reliable, affordable, and gets me where I need to go. I rented a Volvo coupe convertible a few years ago while on vacation in California, which was nice, but I couldn't imagine owning something like that. Then again I'm not an attention seeking whore so I drive what's reasonable, not what's expensive and flashy.

I can agree with this. I dont have a problem with people dropping under 10k on a car like a nice built fox body or ls1 camaro. Especially true if they actually go to the track and race or enjoy building the cars.
But people buying 40k dollar cars to drive to and from work like almost all people do is lame

Examples?
Repping op. I've never had a car more than $13,000. Currently drive 2012 Chevy Cruze. 35 mpg. Cars are the worst purchases people make over their life. A new car loses up to 70% of its Value in just 4. Then trade it in and lose 70% on the next. It's an endless cycle and usually people only move up in car so the 70% number keeps getting larger and largerGreat Dane crew

You should really drive what you can comfortably afford.
I have no idea why someone would want to drive a car like the one described in the op. That is nothing to be proud of. Inb4 total failure and car crashes.
And cars are not investments. Houses are. No one buys a car expecting to make money off them unless they are a flipper.
I used to drive a 93 crown Vic before I bought this new car and oh boy what a difference. Vic felt like it would fall apart at any moment and was very unstable. Something so sweet about driving a new car.
