First off let me state that I have never bought into the notion that any President can affect gas prices on his own, yes that they get ridiculously low under Trump for a short period and by me that actually was under $1 per gallon. For the past couple years around me it has hovered between $2.50 & 3.19 a gallon with the price today $2.96. Anyways Biden releasing 50 million barrels is like pissing into the ocean and won't amount to jack squat so it's humorous to see the DCCC release chart where they broke down a recent price drop into fractions of a penny and on Twitter people thanking JB for the 2 cent drop. Funny how that chart makes it appear as if there was a massive price drop.

Petrol was strictly rationed with only people who the government accepted needed it until 1950 (so even with money it was hard to get hold of) then rationed again in 1973. The rest of the time it's been available but very expensive, crazy expensive by US standards. And yes.. TAX!
