Yeah I would be too. Just as much as this $30 brick.

I agree with you. I think folks will, for the most part, hold onto what they purchased. Next spring or summer when people start cleaning out garages (assuming they’ve been back in the gym or have had the option to be for months...they will decide they need the space or the money tied up in it for something else.

From my perspective in Seattle, looks like weights are down to about $1.25/lb before I get responses via CL. That's for "very good" quality iron painted 1" weights. I've been selling a few 25s and 10s. (Attached)
Also selling a York Barbell, used with discoloration: New is $275 on Rogue (OOS), but I wasn't getting any hits at $190. So now down to $160...
Meanwhile the 2 rusty old 45s somebody is trying to sell $800 still sit
I think the crazy $2/lb. times are over.

Luckily I had the core fitness adjustable dumbbells, resistance bands, a bench, and a commercial treadmill for quick workouts. I had a gym membership and a gym at work so never thought I’d need more.
Went to Rogue for a bar and plate set and adjustable s-4 rack..... everything gone. I thought people would just get fat, not invest in equipment.

Never thought I'd see the day when there would be raffles to win a chance to purchase dumbells.

Just sold my 2002 PowerTec FID with leg ext/leg curl attachment and preacher curl attachment for $350, had it listed at $400. Had several offers at $300. I'm in IL and it looks like the Gov is going to extend the stay at home order through the end of May, but told myself I'd take the first $350 offer. I bought it retail back in 2002 and I'm pretty sure the bench was around $269 with the leg ext/curl attachment. I think I got the preacher attachment for around $90 so almost 20 years later I got my money back for it. Almost pays for my new IronMaster Pro bench I got a couple of weeks ago. Still loving the IronMaster, everything I hated on my PowerTec isn't an issue on the IM.

Was a bit late to the game. Sold a bunch of extra weights I had for about $2/lb each last week. Then sold some extra bars (straight & curls) that I was not using for more than double what I paid for them new.
Made me realize I could use this situation to upgrade my equipment. Sold my PowerBlock Sport 5-90lb set for $1000, the guy drove across the state to buy them and was very happy he got them at that price. Others were asking $1500 & above. And here I was feeling slightly guilty for selling them for twice what I paid for them. Gonna get them Pro 5-90s when they are back in stock.
Listed every weight plate I could spare (gonna get some bumpers), the Airdyne and a bunch of accessories on CL. Getting texts & emails almost constantly. Wish I had more stuff to sell. Make hay while the sun shines

I finally sold a torque cable column I’ve been trying to sell for months for $400. I raised the price to $600 and renewed the ad and it sold in days at full price with multiple offers. Only paid $200 for it last April.
Buyer is picking up some powerblock u90’s for $875. Only paid $50 for these and I already have 120 ironmasters. Huge profit on this one.
I’m thinking long and hard about selling my body solid deluxe cable crossover. I have the selling itch now and I know I could make huge profit on it.
If I can get rid of the crossover I’ll probably buy a nice functional trainer inspire ft1 or something similar.

I just sold a pair of rubber 10lb dumbbells for $40 and a pair of cast iron 25lb dumbbells for $100. I can't really complain, though I was trying to get at least $3 per pound. It still helps pay down the debt I've now accumulated converting my garage into a gym :-(. (The 10lb and 25lb dumbbells were extra dumbbells I had lying around so I didn't need them).
I'm now trying to sell a single 45lb HulkFit bumper plate for $100. That's gonna be a tough sell at that price, I think. People don't know what to do with a single plate. I have a freestanding landmine I'm also trying to get rid of now. Maybe I should sell it as a package and be like "just add an Olympic bar and you're all set!".

When the US Werksan distributer was closing out I bought a few of the training plates to set up another platform in my garage to use in the summer. Arthritis in my knees killed that plan and I wasn't using them so I priced them out at about what Rogue is getting. They sold quickly. Probably fifteen years ago I picked up a dozen 25# plates, used, for an acquaintance who then didn't want them. Priced them and some Ivanko change plates I wasn't using at $1 and $1.50/lb. respectively. Everything sold in days. I know I could of got more but I was happy just to move them along.
Also sold off a TPB with just a little oxidation on the sleeves for $200. Got a response on that in minutes. Buyer was a young fella what bought an OPB off of me a couple years ago. I was glad to see him get it.Last edited by oldred; 04-30-2020 at 04:46 PM. Reason: error

A speed record for me. I posted a 10+ year old rusty oly bar that came with my Black Friday $99 special 300lb Fitness Gear weight set from Dick's Sporting goods on FB Market Place. Before I could finish listing it on CL it got a FB messenger offering the full $100 asking price and said he'd pick it up in 40 mins. He did, and he didn't even try to haggle. Fastest I've ever sold anything. The bar had cobwebs from standing upright in a corner for the last five years in my garage. Probably should've asked for $200. I hated that bar, excessive knurling, way too whippy, and the sleeves had spiral grooves on them.

Pays to be an equipment junkie in the current times! I think most people automatically assume everything is still sold out because of the news, when those in the 'Know' are still buying new stuff online. I'd probably never have upgraded my OPB to the REP Deep Knurl had it not been for the market demand, guy drove 3 hours round trip for it and the REP hit my doorstep only a few days later

I listed 2 cheap cap curl bars (regular and super) now that I use my AB T-Grip for anything I used those for. Think I paid $30 a pop and listed for $100 total and have been getting tons of interest in them. Probably could get more but I am more than happy with getting more than I paid and reducing the clutter at the same time.
